Auburn 'should've hung 60 on Bama'
Quote:Auburn went into Tuscaloosa and had a 33-21 lead in the third quarter, but the Tigers let the Tide go on a 34-3 second half run...
Malzahn, speaking with Chris Low of ESPN.com, said he still thinks about last year's Iron Bowl and believes the Tigers should have won and scored a lot more than 44.
"We didn't score touchdowns in the red zone. We should have put 60 on them...

Maybe keep bama from scoring 55. That's a novel idea

yeah and that's the thing killing Bama playing the spread offenses. They just can't slow them down at all.

RE: Auburn 'should've hung 60 on Bama'
If "ifs & buts" were "candy & nuts" we'd all have a merrier Christmas! Gus should know better than to pull this kind of crap when you lose. When you lose you congratulate your opposition and quietly plan how to whip their ass next time. You don't lay blame, claim what could have been, or make excuses. It concerns me that this is the second time he has publicly done something like this. What it tells me is that he has a blind spot when it comes to admitting fault and that usually means that you can expect a repeat of the same mistakes on another important occasion.
I was never a fan of the Bear but when he lost you could dang sure bet it wasn't going to happen to him the same way a second time. And the only comment Bear ever made after a loss was, "The fault was with our coaching starting with me. We didn't do enough to prepare our young men." In that he had my respect.
When Gus pulls this stuff it just makes him look like an insecure high school coach.

Gus is consistent. He's that way winning and that way losing.
In his year at AState we were traveling to Louisiana Lafayette for a Tuesday night game, a friend who travels with the team called me and said "Something's up, the coaches are calling every recruit telling them watch because it was going to be big."
AState fans call it the "Run it again game" on one drive we ran the same play five consecutive times until the drive ended in a TD, by running it again there was no substitution and no chance for the Cajuns to do anything unless they burned a timeout. Ended up being an easy win over the conference favorite.
The Middle Tennessee game was for all the marbles in the Sun Belt and he told the booster club on Wednesday to make sure everyone came because they would see a game to remember, we call it the "It's over game" because we won the toss elected to receive and QB Ryan Aplin told the MTSU captains "It's over". Drove for a TD on the opening possession, punted one time, got called for one penalty in a 42-0 romp.
Players tell me they would be eating lunch or just visiting and Gus would walk up and call one of them out. "Third and four at our 37 on the left hashmark. What am I going to call". Get it right and you got praised, get it wrong and he'd explain what the call would be and why.
I watched him rip a receiver at practice because he was lined up a foot too far away from the sideline.
Gus isn't an insecure high school coach, honest to God he has an autism spectrum disorder.

Gus can score 60 on bama every year. If bama scores 61 a couple of years in a row and beats auburn his arse is gone

No, but rumor has it you've been doing extra kegels today for your tryst with Jacobs later.
