RE: 2015-16 NCHC Rule Changes
OK time to stop the off topic bs. Nothing productive can possibly come of it.....

I'm anxious to see 3 on 3. You never know if something is good until you try it. Shootouts offend my purist side, but on the other hand they bring the finality to the game that is somewhat rewarding for fans. I've been to a ton of games that went to a shootout and it is pure Jeckyl/Hyde. If your team wins in a shootout, it's awesome. if your team loses in a shootout, then you hate them. Just the way it is, like it or not.

I am not a fan of changing the game because the result was a tie. Why don't they play Jarts?

RE: 2015-16 NCHC Rule Changes
A previous coach shares your thoughts letterman. He talks about the fact that the sport is built on playing five on five and to give the results of a game to a gimmick like three on three diminishes the effort of so many team members.

If you watch the NHL, you see how the rosters are shortened to just a few "skill" players on the ice and they are the only ones playing. The game is still a team sport and to make it a gimmick so that the fans can rally around a say, we won does take away the meaning of a hard fought tied game.

I have to agree with that philosophy. I do enjoy watching skilled players, give me a Pavel Datsuk any day of the year over some bruiser. But play it in the context of the game as it was designed.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.

My primary issue is that it's a tie in the Pairwise. Until that changes, I don't really care

"Dear god", goes well with your "I love it" lines.

RE: 2015-16 NCHC Rule Changes
I look forward to the 3 on 3. Should be edge of the seat type action. At some point the game needs to end. I just enjoyed the shootouts too. When I played hockey we loved doing one on the goalie, and it was a test of skill, contrary to what many claim. It is no more a gimmick than a breakaway during regulation. But I digress. 3 on 3 works fine for me. Whatever rule results in us winning some games is what I prefer.

Exactly, you keep skating, and keep rowing at a Prefontain pace until you break their will.
