Wood tied it against all odds. Mexico then scored a simply incredible goal in the final minute of Extra time. Mexico wins 3-2, heads to Russia.

Just a bad, bad day for US Soccer.

Too many ancient players are getting called up. These guys have nothing left in the tank and cannot play for a full 90'. JK has no idea what he wants to do at this point.

We will never be a World Power until we change our idiotic pay to play system. We need to adopt a more technical style of play instead of our stupid obsession with English style of play that sucks!!! I'm also angry that we had to play this game in Mexifornia!

I'm still angry at CONCACAF for giving Mexico about twenty gazillion penalties in the Gold Cup this summer to save their bacon and ensure this game happened.

Eh, it's the Olympics. What people are ignoring is that we don't really have any top players in their prime. Howard, Dempsey, Bradley, JJJ, Altidore (age wise maybe not, but hes definitely gotten worse) are all behind their prime. We've got 6 or 7 guys that'll be able to take their place by 2018. It's just a matter of developing the next generation at this point.

I hope the people calling for a new manager shut the hell up though. Klins did as well as he possibly could and it was up to the players to finish it.

Only gripe I have is Howard should've been the GK as he's had great form all season.

Pretty much exactly this...this system looks very reminiscent of 99-2000 right now. If our youth goes the right way, I think we could have another '02 run in '18

I agree. I think were caught between the outgoing group that is much of our current senior team, and the younger batch of players coming up at the U20 and U23 level plus those that have made a few senior caps.

It's an odd point where the full group of Senior players isn't good enough to win together, but neither are the younger ones either.

I am far more concerned about the results of the U23 and U20 squads than I am whether our senior squad can beat Mexico in a one off at Azteca North.

I figured everyone had gotten so overly depressed because of the US results over the weekend that no one wanted to talk Soccer anymore.

Games start back up this weekend so I'm sure the talk will pick up.

Between my kids two matches this past weekend we were able to watch Neymar's 4 goals, which was nice.

I didn't get to watch much soccer this weekend. Saw bits and pieces of the Seattle/Houston game yesterday. That was it.
