Exclamation UTEP Had A Good Training Camp. How Was Yours?
There were lots of questions going into camp and some still remain. We expect to finally know who our starting QB will be on Tuesday. Our running backs shined, our defense is even better than last year.

Unfortunately our receivers still need work but once they have a QB to get used to, they will improve.

Our beat writer was reassigned to Nascar and a semi retired weatherman was assigned to cover us...so we know virtually nothing.

Doesn't help that our assistant coach died and some of the practices were closed to reporters.

Wow, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. That's just a bundle of bad news.

Our first opponent Misstaake has been busy as a three legged cat covering poop on a tin roof.

Found out we have a good QB replacing Cato, and loads of talent for the future as well. Looking very promising

Not a whole lot to take away really. No major injuries thankfully. Typical coach speak stuff, look to improve on both side of the ball. Impressed with so and so. The first game in about 2 weeks will really begin to show what to expect.

We lost our TE for the year. Other then that, it was a good training camp. 03-hissyfit

Finally have a decent QB in redshirt freshman Blake Bogenschutz. Our receivers and tight ends are excellent. Our OL is razor thin and inexperienced especially the right side. Our defense is also young but going to surprise a lot of people. Linebackers are of concern due to lack of depth. Starters are top notch though. The team overall has a lot of speed but we are young and inexperienced. We are going to surprise a lot of people especially the pundits and in particular the NTU and Miner faithful who think their **** don't stink.

RE: UTEP Had A Good Training Camp. How Was Yours?
Hearing good things. OL is suppose to better athletically but are said to be slow picking up the offense. RB is loaded. DL is improved according to the coaches. We had some good surprises on the roster which appear to be making an immediate impact. 4* star corner that had committed to LSU and a 3* reciever from UT showed up at the beginning of camp and I don't think any of us fans were expecting that. We still have a QB battle which may not be settled for the first couple of games. It may be which ever one makes it out of the Bama game uninjured...

All in all it's hard to say whats what in camp. Is the defense succeeding because the offense failed or vice versa? Who knows. Kinda of like the Titans. All camp long all we we have heard is how great Mariotta was at protecting the ball because he hadn't thrown a pick through the entire camp. Then in the first preseason game the Falcons shred our secondary and Mariotta throws an INT on the first drive. Point is it's hard to see what's good and what's bad until you play some real competition.
