It's Sunday December 6, 2015 and the season has ended. What record makes you say the year was successful?

For me it means we won the AAC Championship and finished with an 12-1 or 13-0 record and will be headed to the Peach Bowl.

What say you?

RE: Success looks like
I totally agree - 12-1 or 13-0.

We have a ton of talent on offense and should average 28-35 points per game. The only concern is defense but I don't see anyone on the schedule who can keep up with us.

This is Tubb's 3rd year and his program should be in full swing. It's time to reap the rewards.

I hate to be too optimistic because something always seems to go wrong but I still see a breakout year for the Bearcats when they move into the national spotlight.

It's year three. The roster looks pretty good. Time to run. 1 loss or less or bust.

Have to go at least 10-2 for this to be a successful season. Really that should include a conference championship. 11-1 is not only obtainable but should be the goal... 12-0 would obviously be spectacular. Obviously ad a win for a conference title which is the goal.

Agree with everyone's expectations. Year 3 in the CTT era. Star QB, quality depth at wideout and running back and improved team defense. No excuses. AAC Championship and bowl win or busted.

At least 11-2, conference championship and top 25 ranking; however, I would add an undefeated season at Nippert.

Things get tricky if the Cats finish 10-3 with a conference championship but no access bowl game. A bowl win over a power five opponent would make UC 11-3 and a likely top 25 team. I would probably accept 11-2 with a conference championship and any middle tier bowl win that pushes the final record to 12-2.

Agree with most - I won't be satisfied with less than 12-1.

Miami is at home in our revamped house, and BYU, although a road game, will have played the entire season to date without a rest week. We'd BETTER win one of those two games, and not slip up on the rest. Memphis is probably the next toughest, if not one of the top two. They're rebuilding the D though, so they will obviously not be what they were a year ago.

shoot, I'd take 9-3 and a bowl win vs a P5 not named Vandy, Duke, or Wash St.

They are still in sulking mode from last year and keeping a low profile. Seems expectations in Lubbock are cautiously tempered...
Quote:What are realistic expectations?

Texas Tech does not have much interest in openly discussing goals, so it will be interesting to hear if anyone addresses a number of wins or any checklist-type of expectations worth monitoring next season.

[OC] Morris says several Red Raiders have met privately to ensure the woes from last season are not repeated.

“We’ve had a lot of closed-door meetings with the players and we have some leaders that are stepping up this summer and taking charge of some things.

I will not accept anything less than the championship. I assure you that Cincinnati will win the championship. The road to the championship runs through Cincinnati.

With this roster, win the AAC championship or its spitting the bit.

Expectations are high for a valid reason. It's year 3. The pieces are in place. No more excuses barring crazy injuries.

9-3 and going to a middling bowl won't cut it.
