BK's teams won a bunch of close games, so do CBJ. There are some excellent coaching staffs in the conference. It wasn't that long ago that Pitt and WVU fans laughed at UC football. OOC Miami and BYU are dangerous.

We are talking about The American Athletic Conference, right???

Yes. Herman had put together a great staff at Houston, O'Leary had a very good group at UCF, Temple has good coaches, what Fuente had done in Memphis is impressive.

Agreed on Temple, and Fuente at Memphis looks solid so far.

I'm going to take a wait-and-see on Herman, Morris, and Montgomery until they actually have had some games as Head Coaches. (Not to mention Houston still has to get that class signed intact...)

I don't think it's terribly unreasonable to see where things go with the first-time HC's before rendering judgment on them.

Fuente's success is remarkable. Memphis was a train wreck when he got there. Anyone who knows college football has a ton of respect for O'Leary and his staff. Herman is a star in the making. Houston has a talented team and I think that hire and the comeback bowl win beating Pitt gave the program nice momentum.

The AAC doesn't look like such a bad conference this year.

Success looks like ......

30 Cincinnati vs....

our toughest games
35 Memphis (away)
38 BYU (away)
46 Miami Fl (home)

Success = go 2-1 with this group. If we want a special year 1-2 wont cut it.

Challenges:
56 Temple (home)
58 UCF (home)
63 Houston (away)
66 ECU (away)
We have more talent than these teams . But if we dont bring it or there is a key injury it wiil be a loss. A hiccup in one wouldn't be shocking.
Success= 3-1

We better roll these guys
103. USF (away)
108. Tulsa (home)
113. Miami Oh (away)
119. UConn (home)
FCS Alabama A&M (home)
No "USF is always a torn in our side" excuse this year
Success = 5-0

that rolls up to 10-2 / 7-1 or 6-2 AAC . Hopefully thats good enough to host the AAC championship.

Success= win the AAC championship game
Success = Win a bowl game vs a P5
