Memphis did get a mention 03-wink >

Tennessee: Tennessee -- If only we'd done this exercise two years ago, when we'd have had that rarest of joys: declaring Vanderbilt the best team in the state ... and being right about it. But the Franklin era seems well and truly behind the 'Dores, just as the Butch Jones era in Knoxville (not to mention the Justin Fuente era in Memphis) seems to just be getting started. The fact that consideration wasn't even given to us.

I think Duke may be the best team as well. Duke has something that no other team in the state has: discipline from beginning to end in a game.

Rhode Island? Vermont? Canada (there's a D-2 team there)?

And it sure looks weird to see Michigan State and not Michigan as the best there.

What a joke. Until someone beats us and takes the crown, it's ECU or Duke in NC.

They are basing it on how things stand right now... nobody knows how our QB or Duke's QB will play. So... I'm not surprised they chose NC State, who has a known commodity under center. I am a little miffed we weren't even mentioned though.

They are picking the best football team for the 2015 season. What does us beating UNC last year or State 2 years ago have to do with that?

State and Duke will both have better years than ECU so I dont see the problem here

so we say we are the best team in the state until someone beats us? But we ***** about the AAC picking us 4th in our division behind 3 teams who beat us last year in Temple, Cincy, and UCF?

Recently more Pirate fans have been showing a like for NC State. I think there are some ECU alum who love the wolf puppies. They rather see NC State secede and have always something negative to say about ECU and everything is great with NC State.

12,000+ posts and the team (UCF) that has beat Memphis 9 in a row and you still haven't figured out that they are the Knights and haven't been called "golden" since before they started that nine game winning streak. Wake up Rip Vanwinkle, there is a whole world outside of little old provincial Memphis city limits.

Tell it all to your conference arch-rivals - UConn. And they own the trophy. 03-wink

Until they bring that puppy down for this years game, we will just stack it next to our Fiesta, and conference championship trophys. Besides GOL is all worked up about a trophy with a digital clock on it (who wouldn't be).
