Tye Smith
Tye is seeing action early on in the second quarter, looks like he's going to get significant playing time in the preseason. Already in on a tackle with twelve minutes left to go in the 2nd Quarter.

Add a pass break up, another tackle at corner and a tackle on kick coverage. He did have a bit of a hold on a receiver that didn't get called but a very impressive performance nonetheless. Sounds like he's going to have a shot as a nickel back right out of the gate.

Keep it rolling, Tiger.

RE: Tye Smith
I thought he looked good for a rookie. Still needs help on ball awareness but he played physical and showed some catchup speed I wasn't sure he had. I never understood the writers that said he was in trouble of not making the roster. Even if he doesn't make it, I'm sure he'll be on their practice squad unless somebody else scoops him up (Ravens shouldn't blink an eye).

I haven't seen anything about him not making a roster, he has a shot at getting on the field in their nickel package right from the start of the season. He's fighting for playing time right from the get go and practice squad isn't really in the discussion at this point.

He's going to be a very good starting corner at some point in the league.
