I wont argue with those rankings. MT will probably be ranked if they beat MU and La Tech. Bama is a guaranteed loss, and they will be beat Vandy and they can probably beat Illinois too.

We have no chance of being ranked this year.

Rice/Marshall

If we win against Marshall, LT, Vandy, Illinois, and Rice - and no hiccups - we should be ranked. That means an 11-1 record... good enough to me.

If Marshall can play and win against only 1 P5 team in 3 years and rank 22 this past season, there is no reason if MT does my above post that y'all shouldn't be ranked.

Agreed. Even though Vandy might suck, Illinois doesn't really and Bama is, well, Bama. Even a loss increases your rank against them.

I like your dream idea except we don't have Rice on the schedule. Only way we get those Owls is if we face them in the CUSA Championship game. Seriously, if all of the stars align we could go 10-2! We definitely are not going to beat Bama unless the apocalypse arrives. We could beat both Illini and Vandy or could beat both Western and Marshall but we won't do both!

11-1...10-2?

Are you guys serious? I think we might be good enough to run the table in conference, but answer me this, when is the last time we did that?

We might be good enough to beat, Illinois, I believe wewill beat Vandy, but when is the last time we beat two P5 opponents in the same season?

I think 9-3(7-1) is about as lofty as I'm willing to predict.

We played 4 in the last 3 years.

2012

WVU
Purdue

2013

Va Tech
Maryland

Last year was the only year in a long time we didn't play any P5s.

But what if y'all did... If you can dream it you can do it. Hell, I'll start a vision board for you. Well, it would be for #20-24 in the rankings to be CUSA, but gotta have crazy wins in there.

Don't confuse the issue with facts, Fly. It's just so trendy to bash our schedule. Most of the reason our SoS sucks is the dead weight in conference but they don't want to hear that.

Its tough when you are no longer willing to schedule body bag games, and p5s wont play you because they have a real chance to lose.

And its also worked out quite well for us to knly schedule p5 on even terns. Lets hear the schedule flak next year about how Louisville doesnt count because its at home snd how bad Pitt is.

By the way, no way we finish 3rd in the east. Thats laughable, period. Thats someone doing no research into the team and taking it on the surface where we lose cato and assuming we will suck.

After seeing Birdsong in practice, honestly, I think we win the east again. I did think WKU would, but unless i hear or see anything about a vastly inproved defense, They will lose at least 2 in conference

And Louisville was scheduled and moved.

After reading more of this thread, i am no sure why MTSU suddenly thinks they are a top 25 team? La Tech, Marshall, and WKU have a legitimate shot with 2 of the former receiving pts pre-season in coaches poll which helps, though we all probably get shafted in the AP.
