Don't assume it isn't being attempted. You never know...

That was your passive aggressive hint the other day wasn't it. NIU is going to start beer sales.

I think it's a solid idea. When I went to the NIU BG game in 2011, they had beer. I don't know how the sales were.

Last year as an SMU season ticket holder, as atrocious as attendance and the team were, beer lines were solid and they had a good selection. Overpriced, but good selection. It was also expecting considering its smack dab in a ritzy neighborhood.

Easy way to gain revenue and the margins are excellent.

Beer Sales at Huskie Stadium and the Convo
We didn't have beer sales last year it starts this year for football. We did make $350,000 from beer and wine at basketball where we had 97% attendance.

RE: Beer Sales at Huskie Stadium and the Convo
*theoretically* to look at this from a neutral fan perspective and exclusively using information readily available through an online search, the school would need to expand their liquor license and most of the staff would have to undertake a training (which can be done preemptively) before it could be done, so i wouldn't expect it this year. I *can guess* that the hold up would be with the town needing to approve the expanding of the liquor license. *i hope* the athletics department would be actively working to schedule something as soon as possible, *maybe* even before the start of the football season to get this ball rolling in full force and try to implement it either next year or earlier if possible.

We hired outside approved vendors to keep the liability down and students get a wristband with three flaps on it with one torn off for each beer purchased

NIU licenses out their concessions to Sodexo, it is an extraneous company partnered with the school

I know this from a google search

Hate to get in an argument, but I'm like 98% sure they had beer. I wasn't able to go to Moody for any basketball games, but I went to four home games for football, and I specifically remember how hot the TCU game was. The guy in front of me was a frog fan and we were chatting about how having a few beers was big time.

Could be wrong but I felt like they had a selection of Michelob, bud products, and Shock Top.

Sorry if I'm completely off base, maybe I'm nuts. But I also thought the original source posted references last year when SMU and UNT implemented it. You going to any games this year?
