Nothing can save the 49ers from the off-season they've had. More than likely they'll be the worst team in the NFL this season.

Thats a joke. They will not be the worst team in the league. The Bears have some say with that as well.

Except that the Bears are out to completely discredit any NIU player...so the Bears will be far from the worst NFL team just to make sure that 49ers are, so that Jimmy Ward from NIU will be held back any way possible.

Of course! And the Bears won't sign Harnish to be a backup because he is from NIU!

Don't be silly! The Bears can always use quality players from NIU for special teams during the pre-season. Maybe they'll get lucky and make the practice squad for a couple weeks if somebody on it gets injured. There's always a chance!! 03-wink

I bet the Bears could use Ward in a number of ways. Then give him 3 attempts at placekicking and release him.

But the Jets new QB, Geno Smith, could be just the player they need to lead them to the ..

Oh, wait. Scratch that.

Schadenfreude for the Jets.

RE: Can Jimmie Ward save the SF 49'ers
Jimmie Ward needs to save himself. As a 1st rounder, he had a disappointing rookie season, even though it may not be his fault that he got injured. This year, he either starts every game like he is paid to do, or he takes a big pay cut.
