There should be a "both" option.

RE: Which is more likely to happen?
I just could not vote for Southern Miss going to a bowl game, because in my opinion that is not going to occur. Alternately, in my opinion, the Toppers defense is just too suspect to think that they will be able to take the East ahead of Marshall. If the season was to be based soley on points scored, I would go with WKU in a New York minute. But that's just not the case.

Bottom line, I don't think either Southern Miss or WKU will live up to their fans expectations. Now ODU, on the other hand...

My bad -- not done intentionally. Southern Miss or USM it is.

WKU has been consistently inconsistent.

Southern Miss will return.

Really? Now you are just throwing out something to see if it sticks..

2011-7 and 5
2012-7 and 6
2013-8 and 4
2014-8 and 5

Pretty consistent to me you think?

I agree we need to take the next step up this season but since going FBS in full in 2010, not bad for such a young FBS school...A lot of you throwing stones at WKU have done much worse to start your FBS history...

I was intending to say that WKU hasn't been able to get over the hump and get the big signature wins despite the hype. Inconsistent in that they'll drop some truly weird games they should win, and can't seem to beat the P5s not named Kentucky.

Not a knock. Tech has a very similar issue.

Who doesn't struggle against P5's? We are all set up to fail when we have to play road games against those type teams...How did La. Tech fare first 4 seasons in FBS against P5s? This season we only have 3 chances to get a P5 win, all 3 on the road....2 should be winnable but its still tough to go into even a mediocre P5 school and get a win...You could really say that statement above about every team in our conference the last 5 years, we all have to do better....WKU shouldn't be singled out compared to all of us in the same boat...

Getting awfully defensive there my man. The reason the statement probably wasn't directed at other teams and the reason WKU was "singled out" probably has to do with them being one of the two teams of discussion in this thread, just my guess.

I feel good about Southern Miss playing in a bowl game this year. I also think WKU will be one of the top 2 East teams. That said, this is college football, and anything can happen. I voted USM, but think both will take place.
