Pappy's Predictions - #11
#11 - Georgia Southern

WHAT I LIKE:
This team will have some momentum after their excellent initial season in the Belt. Their only returning starter, Mike Hughes, averaged a promising 7.6 point, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a freshman, and should be expected to do good things this year out from the shadow of Hewitt, Wiedeman, Matias and Company. Another sophomore, Jake Allsmiller, shot 36% from the arc and should also be ready to step up. Help is on the way with a solid recruiting/redshirt class.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
Losing four starters and your top five scorers is rough. "Rebuilding" seems like an applicable term here. This team had a glaring weakness in 3-point shooting last season, so some of the newcomers need to help address that problem.

Sometimes good players stay out of the limelight of a strong senior class, and that may be the case here. However, with that many holes to fill, things are going to have to jell pretty fast for GaSo to make much of an impact this year. Still, there are a couple of nice pieces to the puzzle here, and how fast the incoming class learns to play at this level will determine a lot.
