It’s never wise to read too much into Summer League in the NBA. You’ve got players of differing skill and experience levels, different motivations, and the games are generally sloppy as hell. Still, anybody who caught the Milwaukee Bucks Summer League squad in action couldn’t have helped but be impressed with the play of Sean Kilpatrick.

A 25-year-old who went undrafted in last year’s NBA draft, Kilpatrick was not only one of the standouts from a Bucks roster that also included Rashad Vaughn, Damien Inglis and Jorge Gutierrez, but he was also one of the standout players in the entire competition.

It seemed inevitable that his play would be enough to earn him a shot with some NBA team, and it now looks to be materializing in that way for Kilpatrick too. Just not with the Bucks.

SK just seems to have the work ethic, that even if he ends up being the 11th or 12th man, you'd want him to stick on your team.

Someone has to fill in for Kobe when he goes out 18 games into the season.
