RE: Parrish.....Great Story
If that really did happen, it reinforces the perception of the person most believe Cal to be. Success speaks for itself. When it isn't enough, it says that the person is driven by ego and their self image. He's a narcissist, and he's grossly insecure.

A few years ago, Parrish and CBS did one of their anonymous coaches poll to find out who is perceived to be the biggest cheater. Cal's peers selected him #1. Now Kentucky fans would argue that stems from jealousy. My response would then be to ask why Coach K, Tom Izzo, and others who have won more national titles than Cal are not also on that list. It's simple: they are respected. Cal is not.

He'll continue to be successful and win lots of games. He may even get another national title or two. But it kills him to know he's thought of as being more similar to Tark the Shark than he his K or Izzo. He'll just have to deal with it.

On the other hand, if it was documented that another coach was openly calling him a cheater, you can't blame Cal for saying exactly what he did.

Sure I do. Coaches say things about other coaches/programs all the time. Recruiting can be a dirty game. But leave it to Cal to go tell a guy that he's the big bad Cal and will get whoever he wants, whenever he decides he wants them. The way he handled that situation says all you need to know about Cal.

Is this a joke? The coach was openly telling other coaches that Cal cheated. Bet he never does that again. You would have bent over? Yuck.

They all cheat in some form or another. Some are just better at it. The NCAA is a corrupt organization. You have to cheat to survive.

It's not about bending over. It's about handling it with class, being the bigger man. Clearly, Cal is not. I bet K and Izzo would have handled it much differently. Doesn't mean they wouldn't have addressed it.

What on earth would make you think that someone that tells others that you cheated to get a player deserves class or respect or ANY kind of consideration? Also, thank you for the revelation that Coach K = Class.

LMAO

If I remember correctly, the coaches in that poll said Scott Drew at Baylor was the biggest cheater. Cal was mentioned frequently though.

This is why I'm really disengaged with college sports. Moderately interested in Tigers, that's about it, minimally intrigued with Arizona because I live there 75% of the year and tailgating eyecandy is top notch. But I didn't watch a second of any of the bowls, and have watched one game of the past two March Madnesses (not to mention missing the past two Super Bowls, lol, and not caring afterwards).

Cal is better than his haters say, and worse than his supporters say. There's a reason there are people in Memphis who still have a relationship with him, and it has nothing to do with Kentucky. End this abusive fundamentalism that demonizes.
