Makes way to much sense to happen. ECU also currently resides in larger DMA's than Auburn, MSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and I could go on. Way to much in common for the SEC.

It's a natural fit. The SEC gets a foothold in North Carolina, hurts the ACC, and gets another football crazy school in a contiguous state it doesn't currently reside in.

It's a no-brainer. At least someone outside of Greenville recognizes what we have here. You never know what will happen in the future. You've got to keep expanding and winning games in the AAC and see what happens.

I never thought Rutgers and Maryland would be in the Big 10 and I certainly didn't think Louisville would end up in the ACC.

It would be a good fit. We would take our lumps for about 5 years but in the end we would be more competitive than Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

I would love to see it, but this article makes the assumption that plans are in place to expand the stadium. Last I heard they were just started doing a study. And Mike Trout was drafted out of High School, committed to play here, but never did.

Great to see the Pirates in the SEC conversation.

The American is our home right now and I hope we continue to compete and eventually win championships in this conference especially in Foosball.

Maybe the B12 comes after the Pirates and the NC market first but I believe we all agree the SEC is our heart's desire.

It's definitely wishful thinking. But to Pirate fans, it's not COMPLETELY out of the realm of possibility. We have the fanbase, the facilities, and the location that fit the SEC mold.

We would win the east in 3-5 years max if we got the call. The basketball is pretty similar except they get more bubble teams in which may help us if we continue to improve. And Baseball will continue doing it's thing.

I'm not here to say you guys wouldn't be a good fit for the SEC or eventually find success if you were called up but I find this very hard to believe.

I agree. We'd be a middle of the pack team after a few years. I'd be ecstatic about that.

Yes in reality this is a long shot but I would love to see the looks on the UNC and State fan's face if we ever got invited to the SEC, it would be priceless.

Well the East is the weaker of the two already. By year 3 we should easily be better than Kentucky, Vandy, and Tenn. Not to mention we've already proven we are close to Florida and SoCar on an unequal playing field, so if we make it equal we should be able to come away with wins from them. That leaves Mizzou and Georgia as the only wildcards really. So the 5 year idea isn't too far-fetched. Now winning the SEC Championship game? That'll be a lot tougher based on the West featuring the heavy hitters.

Their fault for agreeing to a GOR.

I agree you'd quickly pass Kentucky and Vandy. Tenn I'm not really sure, they've had a couple down years but are supposed to be improving and have a strong program. Florida and South Carolina both had down years last year. Missouri looks strong now and going forward and UGA is UGA. Not saying you couldn't finish 3rd or so within that time frame, but to say in 3-5 years MAX you'd be winning the east is a bit of a stretch.
