Best Games of Week 1
My perception of the best games of week 1...

N. Greenville vs. Chuck South - Not really a great game, but can't leave out the conference brethren. Should be an ultimate beat down.
Kennesaw St. @ E. Tennessee St. - This will be a great look at a couple start up programs. Think Kennesaw St. will win this game.
Holy Cross vs. Monmouth - I expect Monmouth to be a lot more competitive this year. They win their opener.
Presbyterian @ Miami (OH) - The Red Hawks have been woeful, but I don't think the Hose have the power on the road to even overcome a pretty bad team.
Gardner-Webb @ S. Alabama - I expect the Bulldogs to be competitive, but not win.
Coastal @ Furman - The Beach Chickens win.
Delaware St. vs. Liberty - It'll be competitive for a moment as LU knocks off the rust, but wins going away.

Ohio St. @ Va. Tech - Don't expect a repeat of last year, other than the road team winning.
E. Washington @ Oregon - E. Washington keeps it close for a long time, then Oregon wins going away.
Wisconsin vs. Alabama - I can't stand the SEC, but I think Bama wins.
Texas @ Notre Dame - I think ND wins this game pretty handily.
La.-Lafayette @ Kentucky - Mildcats can't put this one away until the last few minutes of the game.
Arizona St. @ Texas A&M - Sun Devils steal this one from the Aggies. It's just nice to see competitive football teams play each other, rather than feast on FCS food.
Virginia @ UCLA - Bruins over Cavaliers.
Louisville vs. Auburn - Auburn never has to worry and wins comfortably.
BYU @ Nebraska - Should be competitive. I see the Huskers coming out on top.
Washington @ Boise St. - I'd say it's a pick'em. So I'll go with the home team.
Charlotte @ Georgia St. - Someone has to lose, not saying that one of them is a winner. GSU is dreadful, but playing a start up team might give the a win.
TCU @ Minnesota - Don't sleep on the Gophers. It'll be close before the Frogs win.
Michigan @ Utah - Inspired Wolverines haven't quite got it figured out yet. Utah wins at home.
W. Kentucky @ Vandy - Hilltoppers top the Dores.
Georgia So. @ WVU - The Mountaineers struggle to win this game.
NDSU @ Montana - The Griz get stampeded by the Bision.
S. Illinois @ Indiana - It's a close game, but IU wins.

Ky will surprise some people this year. Those good recruiting classes are finally starting to pay dividends. KY will win by 3-4 TDs in the opener.

Remember Leonard's Losers? I miss hearing that on the radio every Saturday morning.

With all due respect, 01, I wouldn;t at all be surprised to see the Cajuns win that matchup.

And after a year of taking one for the good of the team, I suspect Coach Strong to have the Horns ready for the Irish.

Na, To many offensive weapons for KY. Look for a kid named Boom Williams, rb to have a breakout season.

With LU playing WVU Sept. 12, and GaSo playing WVU Sept. 5, who does LU want to win in week 1? If we pull for GaSo in the upset and they win, does that help LU? If GaSo wins, which many are expecting it to be a close game, will the Mountaineers be hungry to face LU or feel vulnerable?

Best Games of Week 1
Easy, we want to play an undefeated WVU, and then want them to win out after they lose to us.

My sentiment is with you. The thought in the post was which would be the best for LU. For WVU to have won or lost to GaSo and then play LU. One scenario could be that WVU rolls over GaSo and gets overconfident and gives LU little thought. Opposite could be that WVU either loses or wins by a squeaker. Hey, it's what we do until the season begins.

Ditto.

I don't usually cheer for the bigger school but I'll be rooting for almost anyone but SEC schools against the Sun Belt for awhile.

Yep, I cheer for whoever is playing the SEC, with the exception of Tennessee sometimes.
