For those interested in ticket sales
UC has sold 16,447 season tickets as of Saturday evening. Best pace since 2010. That does include approx. 2,500 season student tickets. Let's hit 20K.

Sadly, I believe it does. 20K at this point would be a dream, I think.

3,500 tickets in 4 weeks? It'll be tough but I think it's doable.

Speaking of tickets, has anyone received their season tickets yet or know when they are supposed to be sent out?

Any goodies this year? There wasn't really anything last year. The year before had a bunch of stuff in the envelope but for some reason I can't remember what. Maybe... the shirt you are giving the students... :)

I got a plastic UC license plate holder with my tickets two years ago.

That's crazy to think about, seeing as how that was the hype from the best year of UC football EVER...there are going to be some crazy high expectations this year.

Let me throw this out there...

Ideally, with a stadium of 40K seating capacity now, what would be the 'ideal' number of season ticket holders?

I wonder if Suite/Club tickets will be a special high grade ticket? Need the first game to be a Commemorative Ticket suitable for framing.

I still have my bowl game tickets and of course my GABP and PBS Opening Game Tickets.

RE: For those interested in ticket sales
For arguments sake I'd love to see 100%..... but realistically I think a win win for the university and the people who want tickets.. I'd think a 60-70% number would be ideal... with 100% purchased as season tickets.. the secondary market is filled with people either not selling, or trying to sell for profit.. I am old school... if I offer my tickets to someone and I am not using them otherwise I do not accept any form of payment other than maybe a 6 pack(if they insist)... whereas many people want to get their money back out of what they put into it even if they aren't being used elsewhere...

But I know many people who can't afford full season tickets so they must do mini plans or single games.. don't want to make those tickets priced soo high(with a season long commitment) that you turn away fans..

I also hope they go to an easier system so I can keep my season tickets attached in their big sheet form.. and can print/send tickets to people via email similar to how EASY MLB season tickets are these days..

Back when I was a student all you had to do was go to the ticket window and buy a guest ticket to get your family in. I still believe a lot of people have a tradition of just walking up and buying tickets on game day. The Bearcats fan base and attitudes is closer to the high school football crowd versus the NFL. The long standing ability to just walk up with your friends and family probably keeps the season ticket base a little bit on the low side.

RE: For those interested in ticket sales
In all the years I have been buying tickets for sporting events.. I think there are MAYBE 1 hand full of times(out of HUNDREDS of sporting events) I have walked up day of game to get tickets... I may be the extreme minority.. but people don't generally buy tickets like that anymore.. I buy high school tickets in advance of game day even...

I know there are many who will walk up.. but I'd guess that was like 80-90% even 10 years ago(of non season ticket holders).. but I cant think that number would be even close to 20% these days... I thought I remembered something a few years ago where the reds said their game day ticket office was too big due to people buying tickets electronically way more than in past years, and their will call being a few machines on the side..

Your numbers are about what I would see as a win. We have to keep we are in an era of declining ticket sales in CFB (it is so much easier and cheaper just to watch the game in the comforts of your home, on an ipad or going to a sports bar). Second, are ability to sell 40K season tickets is limited because we have other entertainment options (MLB, NFL, etc.), a fragmented fan base (OSU, UK, ND, etc.) and not to mention a number of people who just aren't into college sports. This isn't Lubbock or Morgantown where the team is the only option in a 100 mile radius.

That's crazy to think about, seeing as how that was the hype from the best year of UC football EVER...there are going to be some crazy high expectations this year.

Significantly increasing the season ticket sales number will largely depend on student season tickets.

Seriously, committing to every game with a season ticket purchase isn't necessary from a practical standpoint. Few games sell out, tickets can easily be had on the street, and there aren't too many bad seats in Nippert. Recent history would suggest that there are one or two games a season ticket holder won't want to go to because of cold or rainy weather. Do you really want to sit outside in a cold rain to watch Tulsa? Why commit to that months in advance?

Anymore, the reason I buy season tickets is because I think the program needs me and I'm willing to step up. But I totally understand those who don't feel the same way.

Fortunately, this year has a few high-profile games that people will want to see - the opener, UCF and Miami (FL).

The new tickets are out, throwback type. It keeps saying upload fail when I try to post the image though.
