RE: Pest control service recommendation
I'm about to use Coopertown. Highly recommended, but not cheap. They are going to "seal" my entire house because of all the "holes" these Midtown squirrels, rats, and raccoons have made. That means a lot of carpentry work. They are the same guys that clean chimneys.

Anyone have experience with them, before I give them my whole bank account?

I use AAA for termites. They have been very polite and I guess they do a good job.

Cooks pays their techs 2k a month plus bonuses...you get the 2k no matter what, but if you fall behind on collections and your customers don't pay, your district has to pay you instead of corporate...so your district manager is gonna be pissed (because that's comes straight out of his budget)...if that happens 3 straight months, they will show you the door.

It sucks doing your own scheduling and collecting...it's why I left...but they tell you it's required on the front end when you take the job.

If you're a decent tech with a good route, you can make 2,500 a month, with benefits, and a company car

Seems they are working overtime and not getting paid for it. Illegal, unless they are independent contractors, which it doesn't sound like.

They're salary...so no...you really think no one would say anything if they were getting ripped on their $$$?

Man they would all be callin mush mouth 'Morgan and Morgan' up in there.

They're very aware of the wage laws at cooks.

Oh, and techs can't make calls from home...if they are, report them and they'll be written up...cooks provides cubicles and phones for that...Techs are supposed to have that done by the time they leave work...making schedule calls from home is against policy

Seems it would be difficult schedule appts when everyone else is at work. That was the termite guy that I only see a couple of times per year. I told my bug guy to just text me.

I have no desire whatsoever to get a working man written up.

I agree, which is why most people and cooks turns a blind eye to techs calling from home...I'm just saying, technically the tech is violating policy, not cooks.

I don't know who my daughter used, but it cost her $1500 to get squirrels removed from her house out near Davies Plantation. I was there a couple of weeks ago and saw deer, squirrels, raccoons and a rabbit on her property plus a blue heron snatched one of the largest fish out of her koi pond.

I told her she better keep that company's name handy.

For Critter Removal and sealing you should use Wildlife Solvers, local company, reasonable rates.

I had two people that received quotes from a national company for $5,000, Wildlife Solvers did it for $1,600 and did a great job!

For the record, I haven't had any problems with Cooks. Except... I was out of town when they installed their 'revolutionary' termite system. I forgot all about it. Several months and bills later, I asked the bug guy to show me exactly what they did. We looked around and discovered they had done nothing. They came out scratching their heads. They had installed it at the wrong house. I had to figure it out for them. I told them they could either refund everything I had already paid or clear my balance. They cleared my balance.

I'm stuck on who would open the door to some guys who say they are there to install a pest control system.

[ doorbell sounds ]

Woman: [ moves to chain-locked door ] Who is it?

Land Termite: [ muffled voice ] Snowtiger??

Woman: Who is it?

Land Termite: [ muffled voice ] Pest control..

Woman: Pest control? I didn't ask for a Pest Control. Who is it?

Land Termite: [ muffled voice ]

Woman: Oh. Telegram. Just a moment.

[ unlocks door, and opens it. The head of the termite appears, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the hallway as she screams. ]

If it's an indoor installation, you're already screwed.

lol. Now that I think about it..there were these little holes in the bricks all around the foundations of homes.

I was envisioning a motion activated electric current to shock the ones that got through the first line of defense.

Germantown has a ton of roof rats. The only thing that seems to work is poison but when they crawl down your walls the smell is unbearable for a week or so near that wall.

The sticky traps don't seem to work or the snap traps.

The rhodents seem to be getting smarter like a Jurrasic Park animal.

There are now companies that specialize in them, apparently. Too bad I can't do a Hunter S. Thompson and shoot them with a .44 Magnum.
