OT - Minnesota Problems
Norwood Teague resigned yesterday as the AD at Minnesota... Anyone know of a possible replacement... Maybe a current AD with a Minnesota background? Hope not.

I thought about that when I first saw the story. I also thought how unlucky we were that Greenspan didn't participate in social media more often a few years back.

At least no one on the Gopher Message Board has a clue who JK is. Tony Dungy is getting a fair share of votes from the fans.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned JK but it does appear they have a lot of names to toss around, both within and outside their circle.
While I'm sure he'd love to be an AD for a P5 conference school, I do wonder if the timing for JK isn't good. Man, the first year of having twins is like a blur and it's going to be tough enough for his family already over the next 12 months. Throw in a major job change and re-location too? I guess it would be possible but his wife would have to be a superhero to accomplish it without going insane.

I can't see JK getting any interest from P5 schools in the short term. I definitely appreciate the job he has been doing so far. I think he is making good progress with fund raising, and thanks to the aggressive efforts of himself and his athletic department team I see solid improvement in season ticket sales (at least in football and basketball).
These are important accomplishments, and if fundraising/ticket sales continue to grow significantly for another 3 or 4 years, his name will be out there as someone who gets things done, and knows how to turn around struggling Athletic programs.
However, since he's been here, there really have not been any major program events and/or improvements that have garnered national attention. Our football program is about the same, you could argue that our baseball program is getting weaker, and although we all think our basketball team is going to get a lot better - the rest of the country does not know that yet.
Whereas I thought we had good reason to worry about losing Rhoades, I'm not as worried about losing JK in the short term.

I think CDC would be on their list but don't seem him jumping at the chance. No way they can "offer him a salary he can't refuse" and while it is the B10 it is more in line with Purdue or NW instead of Michigan or Ohio State.
If they look to the mid-majors I can see Sayler getting an interview. Minnesota would be aware of his time at USD as well as Miami OH both places where he has done significant fund raising. The lack of success on the FB field would be a drag but a huge positive is that Miami has a Frozen Four hockey program and recently significantly upgraded their arena.

"you could argue that our baseball program is getting weaker"
I can't believe that the above statement didn't get the post moved to the SMACK BOARD, given the previous banning of my similar comments by the THOUGHT POLICE in the ether...

No reports of sexual harassment at VCU (where he was AD from 2006 to 2012) yet. (Just waiting for that one to drop.) But he was involved in a gender discrimination lawsuit by the women's basketball coach at VCU toward the end of his tenure there. VCU chose to settle with the coach.

Sadler would be an outstanding choice for Minnesota. Not sure how ready the family is to move again. And just losing his father may have him less interested in moving right now.

CDC will probably be up there tonight watching TCU stomp Minnesota.
