Sorry your're thread got hijacked, I understand the good intent. I had a goose walk up my yard 2 years ago, had been shot and couldn't fly. Yep, shot in the city, how nice huh. I called Titan Animal Control who has done work for me with squirrels, Tony wanted to help but said that by law unless you work for or are associated with the TWA you cannot touch a wild animal, let nature handle it. Well I don't see how being shot or tied up in fishing line is considered natures course.

Excellent point.

The company I spoke with told me the same thing. That they weren't allowed to pick it up and take it anywhere. Protected species. They told me the there was a tremendous amount of red tape in these situations. They referred me to the actual wildlife authority (I forget who), I left a message and number and that was that.

Should have been born a whale.

I work at a country club in Knoxville and remember a former boss of mine call canadian geese the al queda of golf courses! I had a similar experience at our club with a blue heron with his beak entangled in a fishing line and hook. We called Knox County animal control and they came out, captured it and took it over to UT vet school. They came back the next day and released it.

do folks still fish out there? was a family friendly place back in the day before they blocked it off. all that to curb frisbees and pot, no doubt.

anyway, a kid fishing out there caught back to back huge flatheads. darn impressive.

There's always some douchenozzle out there with a cooler and a fishing rod. It may have been legal to fish there 20-30 years ago, but not today. Plenty of ultimate frisbee and weed to go around doe.

and it's the fisherman who are the douchenozzles

No kidding. We got your fish biting, your rabbits hopping, your quail scurrying, your ducks quacking, your deer grazing and your geese honking...but there are limits and season. Plus ya gotta have a license to kill.

But Hippie Hunting season, boy howdy! It's open year around, and ya don't need no license neither and nobody's gonna check to make sure ya went over your limit. 04-cheers Willie Where ya been?

On our golf courses the geese steal the balls, and I have actually seen a live trout flopping on the fairway, dropped by an osprey from on high.

Poor vegetarian dude I was with was trying to save the fish, so he took off for the closest water hazard in the golf cart... what can I say? SNL meets Monty Python.
