I'm not saying this kid can't be good. Plenty of JUCO kids are solid college players...
It's just not a good sign that we are heavily recruiting a lot of Juco kids every single year.

I agree...to a point... but nothing wrong with signing JCs, if you think they are good enough to play at this level, especially when they have a lot of schollies to give. Also, JCs are pretty much becoming what prep schools used to be, so I expect a lot of programs to start recruiting JCs hard again.
However, you don't want a team of JCs and you don't want to have to rely on them being impact in year one.
But, the program has had pretty good success with JCs under Cal and Pastner, so, like I said earlier, I will wait to see the final class before judging.
As it is, the JCs they are recruiting have some pretty good offers, so they seem to at least be wanted at the high DI level.

Yep. And even Stan was top 10 rated.
Sometimes guys don't pan out for whatever reason.
But overall - Burks, Massie, Grice, Sallie, Geron, Coleman, Burrell, and Avery have all proven to be at the very least players who can contribute at a high DI level.
The other side is pretty much Waki, Stan and Hawkins.

They add size and versatility.
Seems like there my be an attempt to balance out the roster a little as well since we have such a large freshman class in 2015-16, and could do the same thing again in 2016-2017 unless we find 1-2 from the JC ranks. Really intrigued by Rivers. I'll take Rivers and Fisher as a start.
I'd like to know where we stand with Ado out of Chattanooga as well.

I think he had his moments - memory tells me he had injury issues - knees that wouldn't hold up or something like that. Probably similar to Hawkins - potential if not for health problems.

Waki and Ousley both had back problems.

I'm going to disagree with you a little. The landscape appears to me to have changed in basketball with one and dones and the three year graduate player. It's going to be hard to keep talented, but not guarantee NBA draft picks around. Potential NBA guys will be gone by the end of their second year and three-year guys will transfer. The new trend seems to be to build a new team every year with talented 1st and 2nd year players as stars and juco or tranfers as role players. I'm thinking the old way of recruiting four year players and coaching them up is over.

We all know that don't mean much round here
FWIW, I don't think they'll be program changers but i do expect them to be solid CBB players (Nick King types)
