I think Kane's career is over with based on today's press conference.

Well I should rephrase that, Kane's career as a Blackhawk is more than likely done, I expect him to be released soon.

Looks like we'll never get the true story now. Unless there is an eyewitness, I don't see how Kaner will ever be convicted.

Welp, now Erie Co. police are saying all the evidence is accounted for in the original packaging.

Kaner's defense issued a pretty strong statement, in that NO DNA was found below the waist. Hard to have rape IF that is true. Surprised they would issue such a strong statement. Regarding the DNA bag ( phony?) sent to the victims mother - Klake said it best- BIZARRE.

Seems like the mother may have misrepresented the evidence bag???

Crazy stuff. You would think the attorney wouldn't have mentioned the bag thing unless he was 100% certain it was all legit.

Patrick Kane very well may be guilty, but I fear this whole thing is becoming so weird that it'd be impossible to convict him.

There are reports the two sides are working out a settlement offer. I would just get rid of Kane right now, have some integrity Blackhawks, the man is a class A a-hole.

That's funny because last I heard the other day, the accuser wanted criminal charges and not a settlement.

Yeah, sucks that the whole thing is happening, especially if the rape claim is true and he did that to someone. Obviously it goes way beyond things that are essentially meaningless like hockey.

Kane's got a history though and he put himself in a bad position on this. I agree that it'd be tough to keep him in Chicago.

I don't even blame the accuser's mom as much as I do the attorney for holding that press conference. He said "We have gone to great lengths to validate the authenticity of the bag", and then this. That is really really bad, he should not be an attorney. In any event, my excitement for the Blackhawks this year is severely tempered.

Yeah, that's kind of interesting. Like what if she told the attorney that she had a video tape of rape occurring? Would he have held a press conference saying they have video proof without watching it first or verifying?

Big time case attorney made the RIGHT move. You do not want to be associated with liars or frauds. Criminals yes, but not frauds or liars. Attorney smells a rat in the mother and based on the daughters personal statements to him and his investigator it was just too much BS and he cut bait. He was PROFESSIONAL.

See, I'd argue the opposite. He got made a fool of by being unprofessional.

How you hold that press conference without verifying the authenticity of the mother's claims, seems very much like an amateurish mistake.
