ACC teams UC has never played
There are 4 schools in the ACC which UC has never played. Virginia, Wake Forest, Clemson and Georgia Tech. I find this interesting due to to location of those schools to Ohio. I wonder why this has never happened over the 128 years UC has been playing Football.

RE: ACC teams UC has never played
Quite simply put, it has to do with elitism and academic snobbery. We did not play Duke until the Belk Bowl a couple years ago.
Even regionally, we only have played Purdue and Vanderbilt a couple times in 100 plus years of football.
fWIW this extends to basketball as well. I was thinking about this diring the NCAAT last year. It was only the fourth time we had played Purdue. That seems crazy to me for two schools so close in proximity that have strong basketball tradition.

Georgia Tech was part of the Metro for a handful of years in the 70s. You would have thought that affiliation might have led to a football game or two.

If you look at the historic schedules of schools like Wake, Vandy,Georgia Tech, etc they tend to schedule other academic elites like Rice, Tulane, Stanford, etc. They also frequently play Notre Dame, the service academies, Pitt and some west coast schools like USC and UCLA.

Basketball is a different story. Teams that U C has never played are interesting but fewer. P5 Example Auburn, Florida, Norhtwestern,
In the basketball ACC UC has only played Miami Fl 1, Boston College 2 and Duke 3 times

We played UNC durning the regular season in the early-mid 90's. Don't remember the exact year. We also played them in the NCAA regional final once.
We played NC State last year. I'm sure we played VA Tech when we were in the Metro. Maybe I'm misreading what you wrote.

Where exactly did you come up with that?
It has to do with money, game location, limited non-conference slots and each school having other non-conference rivalries or rotating opponents.
It's not like basketball where more than one-third of your schedule is outside the conference.

The Duke comment was concerning basketball not football. UC basketball media guide states UC has played Duke 3 times.

Since when is Wake Forest an "academic elite?" I've yet to see any measuring system that awards them that status.
And Clemson (one of the other 3 ACC teams UC has never played) is well below UC on every measuring system I've seen except USNWR.
