HUSKIEWIRE First Podcast
http://www.huskiewire.com/articles/2015/.../index.xml

The first ever huskietalk episode. I'm a fan of Huskiewire doing a podcast, this is long overdue. Lots of talk about the absurdity of people caring about the cannon going away. Also talk about how successful premium seating has been and how premium seating is needed in order to upgrade the facilities because the facility master plan is being privately funded. So if we aren't going to put 25K in the seats per game then we NEED premium seating to make up the difference. Also a nice interview about all the close games NIU has played and a bit of a season preview with Rod Carey.

Listened to it on the train ride home tonight. Nice feature. I like the attention Huskiewire is giving to NIU. Eddie and Jesse are doing a nice job with their coverage and seem to have some genuine interest and enthusiasm for our program. If they are reading this, nice job boys. Keep up the good work.

Good first effort.

Severson was a little hesitant and stammering at points, but he'll get better as he does more of these. I think it may be also be a product of this being his first season covering the team so he hasn't accumulated the knowledge that he eventually will as he talks to more people and writes more stories.

I'd like to see them incorporate others into the conversation in the future if possible, like older beat writers who covered the team, such as Sahly or Rozner.

Fantastic job, just wish the mobile interface was a bit more friendly

DISCLAIMER:MY PHONE SUCKS AND THIS COULD VERY WELL BE WHY I HAD TO HOP ON MY COMP TO LISTEN TO THIS, SO IF NO ONE ELSE HAS ISSUES WITH THE MOBILE I WILL ASSUME IT IS MY PHONE'S FAULT

I also had issues with getting it to play on my phone. They did bend over backwards to try and help me though. Also got word from John Sahly that these will be put on iTunes in a few weeks once they get approval.

So maybe we have seen a resurgence with HW because Sahly is involving himself again?

I really liked this, it would be nice when it gets on itunes and you can subscribe to it so I can listen on my commute to work.

Good stuff.

Good stuff. Carey seemed personable and easy to work with which isn't always the case for a head football coach. Any idea how often they are planning on doing these? There is no shortage of topics or interviews during football/basketball season.

They said they would try to do one every week.

I listened to it on the way into work today - good debut podcast. Sound quality was OK and I am sure it will improve. I look forward to the weekly editions - I hope they are able to keep it up during the season!
