RE: Dombrowski OUT!
I'm not exactly sure how I should feel about this. Somebody help me make a decision here.

Stupid move.

it seems this move might have been brewing as no mew contract was offered to Dombrowski. Not sure the timing makes sense. Avila says the team is trying to make the play offs really? I thought they were rebooting and giving up on the season? Didn't Illich agree to move Price and Cespedes ? How does Dombrowski make that move without the blessing of Illich? Now you fire him and the new mantra is we are still trying to make to the playoffs. This whole thing doesn't make any sense. Looks like the ownership doesn't know where it's headed.

I think it speaks more to multiple Illitches in the kitchen and a less unified front. The fact that Avila and DD technically held the same job for 3 days doesn't look good on the Illitches either.

Mitch Albom of the Freep is speculating that the abrupt firing of Dombrowski seems to suggest some sort of falling out between Ilitch and Dombrowski after the trades were made. There has been a lot of speculation that Dombrowski was being courted by the Blue Jayes lots of rumors that he was going to test the market.Maybe Ilitch got wind of the fact that his general manager has been less than loyal and he decided to let him go now rather than wait until the season was over. No doubt that DD will land on his feet. I don't know how the Tigers can say they are still trying to make the playoffs this year after trading two of your better and more consistent players.
