I have no power and thrust anymore from that end. Can you design one for the other end?

That would probably be a violation of the nuclear test ban treaty.

Green!

Yellow!

It's just not the same.

Cannons after a touchdown... A tradition unlike anyother (besides the 30 other schools that do the same thing)

I see they want the fans to wear Red to ever game. That is a good thing.
They will be throwing t shirts to the crowd after every touchdown. That is what we need the cannon for because only the first row will get a t shirt.

So . . . the only way a tradition can be cool is if you're the only school in college football that does it? Yeah, that makes sense.

WMU has a howitzer permanently mounted at the northeast corner of the main grandstand at Waldo. It's louder than the one used at Huskie Stadium. Doesn't make the cannon at Huskie Stadium any less cool. Ours has been a great TRADITION for many years and many touchdowns. And, it is funny to see the visiting fans jump when it goes off!

On another thread people were posting that the cannon firing has only been going on for ~15 years or so. I swear it was going on in the 70s. Can anyone verify this?

I would say i'm surprised that this board has taken a discussion about a piece of military equipment no longer going BOOM on gameday too far, but, this is the same board that talked at length about our AD cheering on his alma mater so nothing surprises me anymore.

It will be disappointing that we are losing the cannon but I think the fireworks will be a nice alternative. Do any other MAC schools use fireworks the way we are planning?

Nope. I just don't think the cannon was that great. I was probably very intoxicated but I don't even remember the thing going off during games back in the day. And GW was pretty good at getting into the endzone.
