Not sure whether we will place 2 or 4. Thoughts?

I can't come up with any for TXST so, have at it folks. You have until Friday 8/7 for nominations.

Ray Brown played TE and tackle at stAte and had a TWENTY year career in the NFL as an OL. Incredible athlete.

David Johnson is the other stAte TE - plays for the Cardinals.

Don't recall what conference we were in way back then, but we had a tight end from Comeaux High in Lafayette named Calvin James. I think he'd have had pro possibilities if he could have kept his head on straight but the evil weed did him in. As a freshman he flat ran over anyone who got in his way.

RE: All Time (current team members) SBC Team - Tight Ends
Gary Lewis – This is the hardest choice so far. This is like picking a hundred dollar bill or two fifties. In the end, I picked Lewis primarily because of his big play ability. He has the biggest yards per catch (21.6) not just among TE’s, but all receivers, at UTA which is just incredible. Add in the fact he played primarily in the ‘bone, and that puts it over the top. 66 receptions, 1,431 yards and 9 TD’s is a line that most UTA receivers never sniffed. Mix in his blocking ability and the fact that he was the earliest drafted UTA player (2nd Rd) and you have your cherry on top. Was a career leader in Field goals blocked thanks to his vertical leap, but a career ending injury stopped short any length to his NFL career.

Dick Hill – UTA’s career leader in receptions with 109, second in yards with 1,544. While scoring 9 TD's. He was the Jay Novachek safety valve for Mike Baylor and Ronnie Faulkner.
