Help from BFS collar of upper deck people needed
I'm working on an idea to get a banner in the 300s to hang over the collar. Anyone down to help? A few might be a good idea but we will need to start w some benign ones and we can get Streicher to approve before putting it up.

It's not a John Streicher call in the stadium.

You can always try.
They need to get on board with Tifos if there's a section that wants to do this too - 109?
I'd be down in a heartbeat just realistic that it prob would be confiscated quickly. Still considering season tixs in 213-214 area as be move up to 300's?) so if you need help let me know.

What would the banner say?
Your answer could entice posters on this board to make the game. Watching the JMU fun police sprint to take down a banner could be fun.

They don't even have to sprint they have cams mounted to the light poles on they old BFS seating 1/2 way up that can zoom and pan and can pick out a face from the new sections. They would know who and where, before you could unfurl the banner. They have seating info readily avail. They would most likely escort the perps out of the stadium to the holding room in the basement area of BFS and there would be some long discussions about the policy's of BFS. There would be no denial of who did it they can show you the tape right there in the holding area. HI-Tec surveillance at BFS, big brother is watching!!!!! How do I know? My son and his buddies where escorted out of Sec 409 a few years ago for banging in the Pressbox floor, I got the call on Monday from JMU ticketing that if it continued my season tickets would be revoked, my son and buddies denied it. They showed me the video, I could read his JMU DUKES shirt. We moved to another section.

I am sure you are not. That first season all the fans sitting under the overhang of the pressbox discovered that was a great noise maker. Get about 100 people banging on the aluminum right over their head and it could be heard from the Convo. Needless to say the authorities didn't appreciate the enthusiasm.

We had a thread on this back on the old board during the 2011 season. Anyway, on the one hand I probably did more banging than anyone off and in 2011-2013, and I never got to see this basement holding area...On the other hand I was never sauced and would't do it when the ushers were watching..
Last year they usually had a cop standing on the top row right under the pressbox pretty close to where I was at. So they got the peace and quite they wanted..Schikman still got calls wrong right and left..

I think this idea could be really cool, especially if it was done similar to what fans are doing in many MLS/EPL stadiums.
I honestly believe that if you reached out to the football team with a solid concept, they would help you work through the approval process. It cannot hurt to try.

You can try, it would all depend on the message. Putting up Ad time to go FBS good idea, but kinda smacks the admin in the chops. While I do think they need to be smacked into reality, they just don't seem to like it. There are still a few old fudy-duds there to convince. A winning season like 11-0 goes further than anything. Bringing in GOOD teams does too, the Moreheads, CCU, and St Francis's need to be left where they are. I have contacts with BFS facility's staff. I'll ask and report back on what would have to happen or who needs to approve the idea. First thing they are going to ask is what's going on the banner.

You could try to organize something with cards but that would involve coordinating a large group of people without much prep. Just put together a big rectangle shape with a "BFS" laid out (or whatever simple message you want). Then have a few people up and down the aisles to explain what's going on and instruct them to raise their cards edge to edge with their neighbors so that they're parallel with the slop of the stands on whatever cue you give them.
Something like this would have to be at a good angle for the cameras to be effective, is there a camera that focuses on that area that projects to the scoreboard? That would be huge.

Based on the fact that the upper deck is FAR from 50% sold for our home opener, we may not want to try something like that.
