This should be the easiest poll, yet. The all time D1 rushing leader and owner of one of the nastiest runs in CFB history.

Should be all time NCAA leader.

RE: Current Teams Only All SBC Offensive Backs Poll
If you split Peterson into two entries he would still be first and second in TDs and close in yardage. I thought he had 9,500 yards?

First - We're voting on 6
Secondly - the GS Media Guide doesn't list Peterson's playoff numbers. I had to hunt and peck to find the numbers I did and there was only 1 place that listed the number I got that was anywhere close to what, I assumed, was the right number.
Third - It's just supposed to be a fun poll. Let's not argue too much, ok?

If you don't want an argument, omit GS and App . . . . . Let Peace Reign . ..

Peterson is a no brainer and should be unanimous.
The funny thing is that GS should have the #2 guy on the list too. Jermaine Austin (2002-2005) ran for 5411 yards (6.3 YPC), 33 TD's, 33 100 yard+ games, and was a 3 time all american, yet he was overshadowed because he followed Peterson.... but make no mistake, he was a baaaaaad man between the tackles.

Shouldn't this list players that actually played under the Sun Belt flag?

That's not what we're doing if you want to go back and read the original post for the the polls. We're just playing around until football starts. It's all time players of teams that are currently in the SBC, not all time solely SBC players. There is a difference.

No you are officially correct. I was saying "should" be because his playoff numbers aren't officially counted. Danny Woodhead is (or at least was at one point) the all time yards holder. AP's numbers were higher than his, but a great number of his yards (like 333 against UMass in 99) don't count to his total.

Yeah, the GS guide lists 6559 yds and 84 TDs. I tried to find some place that had totals with playoffs included. I knew it was still probably not right but I put what I, eventually, found. Could not find any site with APY.

RE: Current Teams Only All SBC Offensive Backs Poll
It was fun watching Southern go 8-0 in the SBC last season, but still not as much fun as watching AP in the late 90's. Any time that kid touched the ball, he'd make something special happen.
I'd love to find a statistic to see how many tackles he broke in his career.

If he wasn't mentioned/nominated I couldn't include the guy because how would anyone else know if they weren't put out there?
GS fans were stuck on only Peterson so that's who was put up for voting.

No doubt... it never occurred to me to nominate 2 guys from GS. I was under the assumption we could only put forth one guy.

... and had one of the quickest first steps I've ever seen. Man did he hit the hole fast!
When he and Chaz Williams were both healthy they were some kind of fun to watch.

Something tells me we may see names like "Breida", "McGuire", and "Cox" on list like this very soon. Lots of rushing talent in this conference.

This. I am pleasantly surprised at some of the ground talent in this conference. Coming in, we all thought it was a air raid conference. Nothing is better in football than a good running game.

Yeah, Jermaine is my height, but far denser. Great kid, now a teacher and coach at McIntosh County Academy, or was last time I checked.
And no disrespect to Jermaine, but I'm not even sure he should be No. 2 on the list of GS all-time great B-backs. Joe Ross is up there somewhere. Rod Russell wasn't bad either, though I think he's be third to Austin/Ross.
