I am sure he had much more opportunity for playing time at UTEP. He would have been competing against 3 guys ranked higher than him along with Shaq.

But Pastners uncertain status here sure doesnt help.

He turned down Syracuse too. It is not unusual for a guy from LA to go to a school closer to home.

Non-story... If every player you were after accepted, you'd have 100 players. Every coach watches 100+ players because the next coach is watching 99 of the same players.

How unusual is it for kids from Memphis to transfer to Alabama and Virginia?

Its probably just as well that this kid went somewhere else. He may not have been that good and our next coach will need all the schollies he can find available to start the rebuilding process once Pastner is thru running the program into the ground.

Well, one kid from Louisiana transferred from Memphis to be closer to home. Closer being Grand Canyon University.

based on what I read, he was looking for a guarantee of playing time. I guess we couldn't offer what he wanted, neither did the Cuse.

unsure if we are, but if you want a guarantee of starting before even coming onto campus, well I can see why one goes to UTEP.

This is the same kid that was going to San Diego State right? I mean, how do they lose him? You can't figure out kids. Besides, Tim Floyd knows a thing or two about basketball.
