We basically destroyed a lot of conference offensive records last year and return almost everyone on that side of the ball. I think a lot of league people forget that we had the best regular season OOC win in the league last year over Utah State before everyone got injured. It's logical to assume that this team will score a lot of points this year, which means if the defense is even slightly better...look out.

Look at WKU. Their defense was god awful last year, but their offense was incredible, and people are talking about them and the access bowl this year.

I was completely unaware about the whole record breaking offense thing, congrats on that

Thanks but I think USA Today and the Orlando Sentinel are a little more credible than some obscure blog from a message board hack.

The Orlando Sentinel Countdown was perhaps the worst list I've ever seen. This is a whole lot closer to correct than that was, not that I think this is credible either.

Every one of these polls is simply some writer's prognostication of future events.

None of them carry any more weight than the other.

Noticing the remarks below the article, as bad as GS was over the past 10 years, during the darkest times of our 35 year football history in the modern era, Appy enjoyed by far their best years. Despite it the records are surprisingly close over the previous 15 years. If it's about national championships I like the last 30 years. If it's about being competitive I say look at the past 5 years. Appy fan dicing it up to point out the three wonder years.

Nah not so much. I expect you guys to be ranked ahead of us, but putting Virginia behind Georgia State, NMSU, SMU, and UNCC among others killed it's credibility in the first three picks.

The Sentinel seems to work on handicap. If Ga state wins 4 maybe 5 games the noise will be unbearable. If Virginia wins the same, crickets. Seems to be more about who's on the rise or has the potential to rock the boat. I like it.

Doesn't list the #1 Rushing team in the Country. #30 Defense - that received two top 25 votes from the Coach's Poll?

I have no respect for this poll. I don't expect these guys to list us #1 but to not be in the top of the G5 at all after running the table in a G5 Conference?
Nothing against the teams on it, there are some pretty good ball teams listed, but to leave Southern out of it was discrediting.

AppmanDG you seem to get it. We find our selves in a precarious position. GS makes noise on an unprecedented scale in FCS. App rises to the challenge, regardless. I know this and you seem to know it. It's worked out well so far. Absolutely unique to this point. The question is can we keep this up? Your behind at the moment.
