Agree, but the herd will thin out when they actually start playing games. I put no stock at all in 5 votes or less, anyway.

Yeah, there really should be no polls AT ALL until about 6-8 weeks into the season. Once teams have played half their games.

I prefer low expectations for Memphis...that makes the 9-10 win seasons even sweeter.

What, all two of them in the past 50 years?

Well, 11 years but yeah.

Exactly, I started going to Memphis in 2003...2003-2015 'the best of times and the worst of times'

I've seen Memphis go to 6 bowls over that span, and I'll never forget my trips to New Orleans and Miami...it's fun stuff watching kids like DeAngelo Williams, Steven Gostowski, and dontari poe.

Marshall? Really?

They DO realize that without Cato, that's a 5 win team, right?

I can't wait either. If we can both keep up the success it should be a hell of a game.

To be fair in the 60s 9 wins often meant undefeated!

Nah. At least in Tulsa's case, we haven't played a 9 game season since 56'. It was always at least 10 games, and usually 11

Memphis was 9-0-1 in 1963. They technically were undefeated with one tie

AAC has two established coaches. O'Leary and Tuberville, are nationally known coaches with name recognition. I'm not surprised they got votes from coaches poll. Both of these guys have worked with a lot of respectable coaches.

What do you expect him to do? Go on about how far we're behind and how little any of us can do? He's doing his job, and his job is to make the conference look as good as possible.

C-USA fans already trying to use a worthless coaches poll to validate their beliefs of them being a superior football conference to the AAC
