I have to say, Keevan Lucas could make a dominant, Wes-Welker type slot receiver in the NFL. He's quick, strong, and he's got hands the size of oven mits.

The year USF was in the Big East and they beat several non-conference teams it allowed for the whole conference to rise. If some our teams are seen as Top 25 teams beating and losing to each other would not hurt each other as much. For example if Temple had beaten Navy last year before our game they would have been undeafted in non-conference games going into the ECU game. With that win over us Temple might have started getting some votes then when Temple played Penn State and if they had won they would probably had been ranked and allowed for the ECU not to have been as big of a lose. Same for Cinci if they could have beaten Miami it would have helped them get ranked more.
Anyway this year we have a chance as a conference to do some damage. Cinci can beat Miami at home. Temple gets ND and Penn State at home. ECU gets VT at home (who could beat Ohio State the first week). Tulane gets Duke at home, USF gets Syracsue at home, Houston gets Vandy and at Louisville, and Memphis gets Ole Miss at home. These are all winnable games that would help our conference tremendously.
If Cinci beats Miami ang gets votes, ECU beats a ranked VT and gets ranked, Houston beats Vandy and Louisville and gets ranked, and Memphis beats Ole Miss and gets votes. When we play each other beating each other will raise our standings and losing to each other will not hurt ourselves as much. That is why P5 conferences have that reputation because they do well in non-conference so when they beat each other up in conference play it does not hurt as much.

Thats crazy if true. Is this a 4.3 confirmed laser time or like a we have heard he's been clocked in the 4.3's once type thing? Either way its impressive to run that fast for his size. Just wondering if he will run in the 4.3's at the combine. If he can, thats definite 1st round athleticism.

6'3 221 lbs. He may project as a safety in the NFL. See # 2: http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap3000000496312

I could see him ending up like a Thomas Davis, honestly. If he puts on some weight.

I do enjoy the fact all the offensive talent we have this year and two defensive players make this list.
Nice article. good find.

I think I've said this before, but my cousin scouts in the NFL and he was on the staff at NCSU when they were recruiting him.
From what he has said, he would've definitely been in play at safety if he went to a "major" school.

I don't know Pesik, I doubt it is true but remember Jackie Battle while a running back at UH had LB size at 6'2" 240lbs and ran a 4.3 something at his pro day.

lol Kyle Friend as a footnote. Again, he's our best player, and he did 46 reps. The best at the NFL combine was 37. Like Matakevich, he's maybe an inch or two short, but he's an outstanding player.

RE: AAC Talent
So, you believe he overshot every player at the combine by almost 25%? I would immediately doubt that.
It reminds me of all the Baylor fans who posted on and on about their receivers who ran 'legit' 4.2's and how they were going to toast us on fly patterns all day. In reality, none of those receivers ran anything close at the combine, and the fastest player on the field that day was Perriman, by a wide margin. Even Rannell Hall, whose 40 was disappointing, looked faster than most of their defenders.

I think we are finally having enough talent and depth to return to those days of beating P5 teams on a consistent basis.
The Maryland game will tell a lot of where we are. We should be underdogs but might be able to win it.
