To me it seems this BC writer made NIU look better than if a Huskie koolaid drinker wrote it.

Maybe after five years of winning people are starting to respect the Huskies and give them the benefit of the doubt.

And, a lot of phrases like this "Last season, they opened up with a loud announcement of their talent almost immediately."

Is anyone surprised his link for the Mid-American Conference goes to the AAC? Cause I am not.

Also, talk about perfect being the enemy of good:

Quote:and advancing to the Orange Bowl in '12, the team took a step back when it failed to repeat in '13, losing in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Pfft, we don't even wake up for 10 win seasons anymore.

I feel like I did not read the same article as you, it did not seem overflattering to me at all. They pointed out the huge losses on the offensive line and the fact NIU was not as dominant last year, did not seem like overactive koolaid to me

" The Huskies always used dual-threat quarterbacks to destroy oppositng defenses, and down the stretch, Hare ran the ball no less than 11 times for no less than 40 yards. He broke off long runs in every game in which he played."

The '13 team beat Iowa in Iowa. Pretty good for taking a step back. But then they did blow it in the MCC.
