Quote:May weighs options: Rich Central's Caylon May had more than a passing interest when he turned on the TV to watch Western Michigan battle Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl on Monday.

The senior defensive back has narrowed his final destination to Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Bowling Green. He plans to make official visits to all three schools before national signing day on Feb. 1.

May said he watched every minute of Wisconsin's 24-16 win over previously unbeaten Western Michigan.

"Definitely, I'm interested in Western Michigan and they are a really good program and I saw that this year," May said. "Their program is on the move. They had a very good team this year and I wondered while watching them how good they will be in the future and how it would be to be a part of that program.

The 6-foot-3, 293-pound May has offers from Miami (Ohio), Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Illinois State, Wyoming, Buffalo, Northern Illinois, Ball State and Colorado State. May played a few snaps at defensive end and in the backfield in Rich Central's rhino package.

"I think once I take these visits, I will see where it will go from there," May said. "These will be my first official visits. I'm definitely excited about them."

Need PJ to publicly sign the extension... recruits need that commitment.

Yep. If Fleck goes off to Minnesota this week, this thread will be seeing a lot of "adjustments", to put it mildly.

APB Kaiser Carleton - Macomb, MI, Dakota HS - 5'8" 180 lbs.

Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/profile/2966879/kaiser-carleton
Other offers: Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Toledo

Carleton was previously committed to EMU.

I had not heard this bit of news, thanks for that. Kaiser is in my daughters class at Dakota. Had he not injured his knee his Jr. Season they may have beaten Cass Tech in the regional final 2015, a 16-10 loss. I've watched him play since his sophomore year. He's a shifty speed back. OK as a receiver out of the backfield. Probably too small to play RB at the next level. I could see him in the Braverman role one day if he can improve his route running. Kid runs hard and plays bigger than his size. may also be a contributor on special teams as a gunner or return man. Will be good to see 2 former Cougars on the Broncos roster, Balabani and Carleton.

Clearly Fleck sees the value at the kicking position. Without a kicker of Butch's caliber going 5/5 in MAC championship we don't win the conference or go to the cotton bowl. Hampton was not going to redshirt so by the time butch is a junior then Josh Grant is a RS Fr. Also no guarantee that anyone stays healthy over their career so it stands to reason to have capable depth at each position. I think it's a huge get to recruit a top kicker in the nation in back to back years.
Scroll down for Chris Sailer's assessment. I'm encouraged by the strength of the kicking game.

Yep, unfortunately for the Broncos, Minnesota has plenty of open scholarships and would most likely try to poach a bunch of WMU verbals (like 3-star recruits).

If they haven't started classes yet this means nothing.

Exactly.

What is everyones over/under on how many verbals Fleck switches over to the Gophers and then whats the O/U on how many verbals get poached by other schools?

I would expect 5-6 to switch to Minny and 3-4 others to switch to other schools.

RE: Official Recruiting Thread - 2017
This is rougher on these commits... they only have a few weeks until NSD too... We need a new coach to come in quick and continue to build this culture... I think some of the current players are reaching out to some of the commits to keep them in the boat so to speak... this isn't quite a listless ship on the ocean... but its close.

Am I the only one that finds it strange that Elmore & Autman-Bell's statements on twitter are pretty much the exact same wording?
