RE: Thoughts
My thought is that you will have more people reading your threads if you use more informative titles. I only read this because I was bored today. Thanks for the link, by the way.

RE: Could B12 Contract OU looking to Big 10
I couldnt disagree with Frank more. The Big 10 has had two opportunities to add Kansas and a few other Big 10 schools and they have NEVER done it. There was never an invite at all. Were talking about a package deal when the Big 10 could have been getting Texas A&M in that deal. Now the deal would be with only two teams.
Kansas, who they have turned down twice and Oklahoma who would be their second non AAU school. I know Big 10 country and even though the ADs might jump at adding them, I think the Presidents would pause. There was some high profile presidents that were actively pushing to kick out Nebraska when they lost AAU status and all of a sudden their now going to be happy about adding Oklahoma. To me, that doesnt make sense.
Last time around, Kansas was in the "Forgotten Four" and was going to have to join the Big East. The Big 10 could have easily offered them and yet they didnt. They waited and ended up adding Maryland and Rutgers...two teams without near the pedigree but a way bigger market.
Also, that 2010 offer was DOA. The Big 10 isnt taking Iowa St. Its an overlapping market that does nothing for their network and Iowa would oppose the move.
Then lets not forget that Oklahoma has to separate from OSU. This isnt a minor issue at all. The political implications are huge considering that without OU, there is a very real chance that OSU is left out of realignment and the legislature isnt going to let that happen. People can say they would have options in the PAC but that simply isnt true. Their academics arent close... and I doubt the SEC would have a use for them. Theyre a distant second in a small state and without a larger nationwide following.
Kansas can separate away from KSU much easier but again, there will be a legal battle.
You put all of that together and I just dont see this article as plausible. Not at all.
