The Big XII has invited the following 6 schools to join, all of which accepted:
- N Dakota State
- S Dakota Stata
- Air Force
- N Colorado
- Wyoming
- Utah Valley

The Big 12 Conference has added six affiliate members to its postseason wrestling competition as Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming will join Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia in future Big 12 Wrestling Championships. Additionally, Denver will take part in the Big 12 Gymnastics Championship with Iowa State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
Basically what happened was the Western Wrestling Conference folded and all six members joined the Big XII as affiliate members for wrestling.

Say hello to your new Big XII schools!

Nah, despite my initial statement I don't think they have voting rights but....what about contractual rights? You join a conference and soon after it is dissolved by the same schools that invited you only a year earlier?

Could it mean that some teams are moving to conferences that don't sponsor wrestling? They would still need a home wouldn't they? Which conferences sponsor wrestling?

Not sure about the GoR, but if 3 teams leave they can no longer sponsor football under NCAA rules...

I posted about this on the very inactive B12 board, well as you would expect Bit Cruncher got very defensive and denies there is a problem.

I would consider Oklahoma wanting to leave a problem but he may be right in that the GoR is still solid and no one will leave until close to 2025. The speculation that Fox/ESPN will void it rests on that clause existing and Texas leaving if Kansas and Oklahoma left. I could see Texas staying and just adding 2 more schools just to spite those that left.

Well, the Big 12 is on life support, so time is the only variable until the monitor flat-lines!

Not sure about the GoR, but if 3 teams leave they can no longer sponsor football under NCAA rules...

The AAC was down to 5, and a year later 3, and they let them reload, A big 12 with 5 or 7 will be able to keep its football intact. Likely even with 3 or 4 schools, they will be able to reload.

As much power as PAC affiliate members San Diego St (soccer) and Boise St (wrestling) None. Cheers!
