A win against akron would help the season. The football team has to be the biggest embarrassment athletically and academically at our favorite institution. I just hope President Warren starts to hold people accountable. How many weeks til basketball?

We beat Akron last year and it was maybe a 1% salvage 99% suckfest of a season.

I had such higher hopes about this coach.

Believe me, the prognosticators can be (and usually are) wrong. If you would have believed the papers in 1948, Dewey would have been president. Have faith, bowl qualification is attainable this year.

I don't put much stock in preseason projections but I put even less stock in them for this year's Kent team. The reason is I think our whole season is going to hinge on how the O Line plays and I don't believe that many media members are tapped in enough to know how good or bad our line will be. A great line can make average weapons look good and a bad line render great weapons ineffective. Last year our line was bad but they had legitimate excuses with the whole Bitsko situation. If they're bad again this year then I think it's all on the coaching staff. Bitsko would've been gone this year anyways so they should've had a plan in place to replace him. I believe we have pretty much everyone back though. So we'll see...

Always like how so many of these preseason rankings mirror exactly how teams finished the previous season... This one is no different... Complete joke lol

So we can hope for second or third to last? A qb battle but with only one academically eligible qb. So not much of a battle. I am such a huge collegiate football fan that it's wait another yr.

Don't think Bollas can push Reardon at all? I thought I remembered hearing he could've been a factor last year but they decided not to burn his redshirt in a lost season.

I'm always optimistic at the beginning of every year. I am hoping we get a more favorable calls and more balls to bounce our way. As I was telling a few buddies and anyone who will listen, when it comes to MAC games most are hard to pick a winner going into them. So everytime I visit Dix or watch the game online I feel confident that Kent can come out on top. Usually craziness happens and they end up losing it in the 4th but the next week I am back to feeling the same way.

There's such a gap between the first and third strings at most MAC schools that a handful of badly placed injuries can turn a promising season into a barn fire, and a little bit of luck in the injury department can give a team the edge it needs to go on a run.
