Tulane tells world that the Westfeldt Terrace has approximately 3,000 seats. See:

http://www.tulanegreenwave.com/facilitie...rrace.html

The Westfeldt Terrace is the upper deck with the awning in the picture below.

The whole stadium cannot have 30,000 seats if that deck seats 3,000. It's impossible, no matter what your administration tells you.

BTW administrations lie. The UH administration said for years that Robertson's capacity was 32,000 when it clearly had 28,000 seats.

As long as we are being real, UH has work to do on our attendance too. That's no secret.

Tulane has also told the world along with the builder and approved by the Fire Marshal that the stadium has a capacity of 30k which includes SRO. Tickets distributed at the GT game last year hit 30k.

So yes you are right. The stadium doesn't have 30,000 seats but, what it does have is 27,962 seats and the rest is SRO. Hence the bunker suite, three party decks and GA seating areas.

Last year the FAA restricted airspace over the stadium thinking that the 30k capacity listed were seats. The FAA restricts air space over stadiums with 30k in seats or more. Seats. In an email last year from Tulane AAD to the FAA tulane explains that the 30k is public capacity and that the capacity of the stadium (FAA cares about seats) is 27,962.

The AD also stated in the summer leading up to Yulman's opening that the stadium would have 28k in seats. So sue him because he missed by 38 seats.

That's perfect size for Tulane...mostly full games builds demand

We typically max out at 95 cause of the breezes from the lake/river.

Wind doesn't affect temperature...

Just stop. No one from Tulane has EVER claimed more than 25K seats.

Tulane said from the beginning that Yulman would have 25K seats and 30K capacity (i.e. 5K SRO). Here's a note from 2012:

http://tulane.edu/news/newwave/nw_110112stadium.cfm

When Tulane fans (i.e., DfromCt) asked athletics spokesperson Yvette Jones in April of 2014, they were told the same thing. 25K seats and 30K capacity.

When Tulane fans got to tour the stadium and use the seat selection tool, several fans counted approximately 22,750 seats.

We know from seating contrator Dant Clayton that they installed 15,793 seats on the visitor's side plus both endzones. So the total number of seats would be 15,793 + the home side.

Wesfeldt Terrace on the home side is 3000 seats. That's 18,793. The only thing that's left is the Glazer Club and other seating in the lower home deck.

So while it's true Tulane told the FAA capacity was 27,962, your assumption is incorrect there are 27,962 seats.

Rather there appears to be 22,962 seats with a generous allotment of 5,000 SRO (i.e. the same SRO that Tulane has claimed from the beginning).

Whoever "Green Wave" is he/she has the same credibility problem on the Tulane Board, gotula.net. Nothing he/she posts is believable and he/she is bellicose.

Yes and no, the breeze carries the cooler air from the ocean/river. Not talking wind chill but the effects of being located near water and tmk wind plays an important roll in spreading the cooler air. So i think u failed here.

I'd don't think there are 28k seats but would actually like to be wrong.

Campus football is better than Dome football. Been there, done that.

Too bad Tulane was prevented from building Yulman the right way, with the home stands on the West Side. Instead, the home fans bake in the afternoon sun. All because of the NIMBYs.

Aside from that, 23K actual seats with some additional SRO is the perfect size for Tulane right now. Hopefully, they outgrow it.

I see what you did......ole coug red

It's 30,000 and yours is 42,000 make sure you average over 30,000 I'm pulling for ya! 29,000 in a 42,000 in first year.

As the saying goes, stadiums aren't sized for today's needs, but for tomorrow's. A 29,000 average attendance in a 42,000 seat stadium in its first year is very good in my opinion, especially considering all that happend to Houston football last year. Put a decent product on the field with an inspiring head coach and you might see mid 30's sooner than you think. Reach that goal and we'll soon be hearing about their expansion plans.

While we are in the business of counting seats, UH's has 40k not 42, right ? I honestly don't know if I missed some sort of 2k bonus seats or what's up..

Either way the HC was fired and that's all you need to know about attendance for last year.
