Maybe they think we have wildcard spots in the MAC.

I'm surprised that many more media members picked WMU over NIU. I can understand a slight edge if you believe the recruiting rankings, which I don't. Did they forget that our weak team last year still beat WMU?

A separate question to vote on. Which means some people don't expect NIU, when in comparison to Toledo & WMU to pull it out this year, but when asked separately "choose the MAC winner", their gut from past years' demonstration says "NIU".

I'm not surprised people are picking NIU, because it's the most solid bet going on track record. Same for BG. WMU seems to be the trendy pick, but not enough people are looking into them on the road in their two largest games.

You forget how lucky NIU was though. They accidentally stumbled onto 11 wins by pure luck :)

They still have their rabbit's foot that they had last year, right?

Stingly was more effective in MAC play than anyone else NIU had offensively.

He had bigger numbers, I don't know that I'd say he was more effective. He was nice to have at the end of games when the other team was tired. But he averaged 5 ypc. Hare averaged 5.7 ypc, Bouagnon averaged 5.8 ypc (113 carries) and Huff 7.9 ypc (though only 9 carries - but 3TDs!). Though they did put Stingily in for short yardage more than the others. Still, Huff and Bouagnon have good size, 218 lbs and 224 lbs but definitely faster than Stingily. I think we'll be okay.
