This is a guy who worked on McCains 2000 and 2008 campaign, and is currently working on John Kasichs campaign.

I guess he doesn't have to worry about it since Kasich is unlikely to even be at the debate.

That is funny as hell. Right on point.

I'm guessing Kasich is not going far with the track record of this guy, but that WAS funny.

Honestly I'm only going to watch it because of Trump.

The primaries are only worth following when there's some drama.

What? Are they afraid Trump will mess up the highly nuanced and substantive nature of today's televised debates? LoL.

The NH forum is on Monday but Trump won't be there. 14 other candidates will.

RE: I really liked this quote from John Weaver about the debates
The August 6th debate will only have 10 candidates (although the six who miss the cut get a pre-debate forum before hand - think of it as the kids table for Thanksgiving Dinner).

Most people say Trump, Bush, Walker, Rubio, Paul, Cruz, Huckabee and Carson should be in. And Fiorina, Pataki and Graham probably are out.

So that leaves Christie, Perry, Kasich, Santorum and Jindal fighting it out for the last two spots. I'm kind of surprised Christie's campaign numbers aren't doing much but I think Trump has taken a lot of his Northeast support. I hope Perry is left out. I'm kind of hoping Kasich and Jindal are the last two.

I think Jindal is dead in the water, at least that's the impression I get from most Louisiana residents I've heard from. Admittedly, it's far from scientific, but I know he's pissed off a lot of LSU alumni, and that is an important republican base for that state.

A past chairman of the Rep party here in ElPaso is getting flack for having an anti-Trump party with a piƱata resembling Trump. It's getting to be fun. Best election yet.

It's weird because while I agree Trump makes them nervous, it's not for the reasons many have posted threads about. He makes them nervous because they are worried he will make more asinine comments similar to the ones about illegal immigrants, and that the Republican base will cheer him for making them. The fear comes from the fact that they know that when this happens he shows the dirty underside of the actual Republican base, and it makes Republicans less electable in a national election.

But that also gives them the opportunity to distance themselves from those positions by taking Trump on. Everything about him says that he's the typical bully who folds when somebody jumps in his face and smacks him back. His balloon could burst pretty quickly if people take him on. Then again, maybe they are just a bunch of wimps. The kind that bullies like Trump prey upon.

Quite frankly, if he represents the republican base, then I'm as fed up with republican base as I am with the socialists and communists who make up the democrat base. Where is someone who represents the 60% of us who don't go for either extreme?

Montana, Idaho, and half of Washington and Oregon.
