Non conference away game ticket sales / turnout?
I'm curious how many tickets each school were allotted and sold for their big (long road trip) away games specifically:
Arkansas State at Southern Cal
Georgia Southern at West Virginia
Georgia State at Oregon
Idaho at Southern Cal
New Mexico State at Florida / at Ole Miss
Texas State at Florida State
Troy at Wisconsin
ULL at Kentucky
ULM at Georgia

Are you generally pleased with your school's big non conference away game travel? The Georgia Southern fans that traveled to Tuscaloosa back in 2011 were some of the loudest visitors I've heard in Bryant Denny and I've been to a ton of big games.

Do you or your school try to organize a meet up at a bar or tailgate on campus?

South Alabama was allotted 500 tickets to Nebraska and sold around 150. I was hoping for a larger turnout. Unfortunately no one on the USA board seems interested in meeting up before the game so we'll be wondering around Lincoln trying to find other Jag fans or just hanging out with Husker fans.

I don't imagine we will have a large contingent for WVU, maybe 1-2k?

We will likely have 10k+ for our game against UGA

I'll be making the trip up to Morgantown, with an old college buddy of mine from the DC area.....

I would say any given year, the # of big $ away game tickets sold varies....depending on how well a program is proceed to perform......I've been to a few of the big $ away games over the years:

UNC - down years, but still a decent Southern turn out, nothing but we seem to find each other
Bama - we were riding a wave of success & plus it wasn't hard to sale tickets to have a chance to take on that Bama team, we had a tailgate
Navy - 1st year we brought the T O back to the 'Boro & the excitement around hiring Monken too, another great turn out, we had a tailgate
GT & NC State - Gt was a huge turn out with buses & a planned tailgate & pre-game socials & NC State was a great turn out but we seem to find each other
Florida - We had a big Friday night social & then different people tailgated together......huge crowd I guess you could say we smelt the blood in the water

UGA - Eagle Fans are everywhere, too

We upcoming dates w/ Ole Miss, GT, LSU, I'm sure more to come

I doubt we'll see a large contingent of red wolves fans at the Coliseum (though I was surprised that their was a section of fans at Oregon back in '12)

App should bring between 8-10 thousand for the Clemson game, Apps largest alumi base is in Charlotte, just a 3 hour drive to Clemson, and the second largest, Greensboro, is just 4 1/2 hours away

I know Texas State has sold a fair amount of tickets for FSU. I know both hotels that were lined up for the visiting fans have sold out.

I'd expect to see around 2k in Florida. Maybe 3k if we're lucky.

I really wish y'all can beat FSU. I know that is asking a lot but I do not like Jimbo.

I think we had a middling group when we played at Navy in 2012. Not huge, under 1K but it was MD in November, not Florida in September.

We took tons to UH in 2010 and 2012; where we helped them get their largest crowd ever at Robertson.

I think we took 2K to TCU back in 2009. Which, for a crappy FCS, wasn't bad.

We've got a few who are going just because its LA, and it's a holiday weekend. I expect a decent turnout considering the distance.

Thanks for the props. My neighbor made the trip to Bama in 2011 an had nothing but good things to say about you alls fans. Nice to hear good things from other non SB fans the props for Southern here are few and far between.

Went to Nebraska few years back and not many Troy fans there but the Husker fans were great.....you will have a good time.

I would expect our best attended road game to be @ GSU. I've been to both of the USA @ GSU games and we probably had around a 3500 average for those games.

I bet its more like 500-1000. I'm hoping for 3000-5000 for UH. I wonder how many tickets FSU and UH gave TXST in their allotment.

Not sure how many tickets we sold, but App sold our allotment for Clemson and had to request more. Should be a good showing by App Nation.

RE: Non conference away game ticket sales / turnout?
TXST has sold 1,000 tickets through our box office for Florida State. That doesn't include the ones they gave the alumni association branches to sell. So including those and people who didn't buy through the school, I expect there to be 1,500 or so fans.

Not bad for the distance and high odds of winning
