RE: Coming to a suburb near you...
"the country has 'a history of putting affordable housing in poor communities,'"

NO idiot. "Affordable" housing is built in communities, then said housing is destroyed by the tenants, thus contributing to the demise of the entire community. Like a plague of locusts that destroys everything they touch. People forget that most of these inner city SHITT communities at one time used to be flourishing, in-demand communities where people actually wanted to live. Then the locusts invaded and destroyed.

The plague appears to be on the verge of spreading if nonsense like this is even entertained.

You can't even pay good money to get away from the dregs of society now? I've worked my ass off to live where the hell I want to live. AWAY from the locusts. Sounds like I will be forced to "co-exist" with them whether I like it or not. Obama's promise to increase crime in the suburbs so we can all enjoy it.

RE: Coming to a suburb near you...
These idiots act like it won't be the same cycle that's occurred in the cities.

"Affordable" housing was built or sectioned off in the cities, then those who contributed all the money to the upkeep of the city moved to the suburbs or to another part of town to get away from the crime-ridden parasites. The old part of town turns to shitt.

Now they'll build this housing in the suburbs, then those who contribute all of the money to the upkeep of said suburb will move away again, creating another suburb in a rural area and leaving the old suburb to the parasites, who will subsequently destroy it.

Rinse, repeat.

old hat, old news, should never happen....

defies the premise of what is the number one reason this country became great....

to think about the sacrifice on every side to achieve this greatness this country once was, is sickening to see what today has become....

this is the cuntry we live in now....

the focus IS lost....

Coming to a suburb near you...
It boggles my mind that this administration knows everything about spending habits, credit history of the citizens in order to accomplish this crap but can't secure the borders.

Someone tell this loser in 1600 PA Ave to stop. Life is not fair. Deal with it! Don't ruin MY property value and community by dragging the dregs of society into my back yard.

I'm glad they are separating by zip code since the train tracks run right through the middle of mine and the trash stays on the other side of the tracks.

You will ENJOY the diversity of affordable housing, damnit!
You will LOVE the all the trash, noise and trouble of affordable housing, damnit!
You will ACCEPT all the new cultural mores of your new neighbors in affordable housing, damnit!

If you don't you are racist.

So to receive government funds, you have to abide by government guidelines? Seems par for the course in any disbursement of government incentives, and a valid use of what HUD was designed to do. It also goes on to state that these plans and communities will be used for data collection and to come up with applicable plans to help those suffering from poverty. Furthermore, section 8 housing is mentioned absolutely nowhere, which was my point.

But judging from these responses, you'd think that being poor is a crime.

Except it only applies if you wish to use HUD grants. Which, you know, sort of means your little rant is completely unjustified.

Do you think the people living on the other side of those tracks are inherently worse people by some genetic trait? Or do you think that it's a product of their environment?

I'd say they had a hand in making their environment what it is. Not everyone is a victim.

Inherently? No. Product of environment? Maybe sometimes if you consider culture as environment. There is a lot of crimes and social problems that I'd rather keep on the other side of the tracks. The problems on my side of the tracks are either domestic and don't involve me, if I leave my car unlocked it might get sifted through though I don't leave anything in there, and I might have dog poop on my lawn from an owner that didn't pick it up. As long as that remains the extent of my problems, I'm good.
