Just Kidding, Thursday night is always going to be hard on traveling fans.

And 20 App fans.

That's also not the only game in which a Cure Bowl rep was in attendance.

We sent to both games in ECU an average of 9-10 thousand, the former ECU AD, Terry Holland was so impressed, he started talks among the CUSA members about possibility bringing us in as a member. I guarantee for the Clemson game we will buy up every available ticket, wouldn't surprise me to see 10 thousand for that game, and even small programs such as ODU, I bet we have 5-6 thousand there. Not saying GSU fans don't travel well, or is even behind App, but, that statement which implies that the Orlando bowl would take GS over App because your fans travel so much than Apps just isn't true, we can match anyone in the conference when it comes to
fans traveling.

Never seen 10k in Paulson. We travel more to App than ya'll do to us. Still waiting for ya'll to roll up on us down here.

As for your ECU comparison, between our UGA and GT games, we probably are in the 10-15k range for visiting fans at those. We're actually expecting to sell a lot of tickets to our upcoming game with Clemson, so much that we worked in that tickets sold in our allotment will add to our guarantee. You guys travel big in NC and to your P5 games, but I've never seen this large travel party you guys claim outside of that. In fairness, we don't roll heavy to the distant games either, but from everything I hear from opposing fans we represent ourselves well in fans in attendance.

Our social media presence (which the Cure Bowl president made a big mention of being an important factor) is growing as well. One of our Twitter accounts is getting retweeted all over the place, and people seeing the videos are commenting "Yea these guys are all over the place now."

It's a different world from 2007.

like I said, this conversation has grown pointless, since there is no way to prove the actual attendance you claim for all these games, and honestly, I really don't care. Like I said before, lets see where we stand at the end of the season, and, who goes to which bowl games, and I'm sure whatever bowl game you go to, your fan base will complain that they deserve a better bowl.

Just takes the right schedule - only one out of conference loss, and running the table in the conference.

stAte got close in 2011, receiving votes for a few weeks at the end, but losing the first game @ Illinois and the 3rd game @ Va Tech generated a limited ceiling - and rightfully so.

This writer acts like he's ranking by final estimated record, with little regard for power rating or strength of schedule. It just isn't a very logical list. He should stay far away from Vegas during college football season.

But hey, thanks for the perception points for the league . . .

IMO this has been an interesting ranking so far for all teams. It is clear the writer is not putting teams in pure order of power, but a combination of conference finishes, games won, and lastly power.

Not trying to rain on this great #31 as the writer clearly thinks GS will be the class of the SBC by a lot, and a lot stronger champ than a lot of other G5 teams.

Maybe the writer actually believes they are the 31st best team, but this rank was not in a vacuum, there were lots of other parameters as the teams are falling.

RE: Orlando Sentinel #31: Georgia Southern
Until someone can prove otherwise, the Eagles are the best of the bunch in the Belt. I think they are putting together a program that has the ability to be the success at the FBS level that it was at the FCS level.

I'm happy with the direction that we are headed as well but I think we need to see what this season brings before we get carried away. A lot of folks are hanging their hats on our strong finish last year. And, while that gives reason for optimism, we really need to see how we come out of the gate this year. There is reason to believe that this year will be different but there are still questions that need to be answered as to our ability to put together an entire season.

There are probably at least 5 teams heading into this season that could be standing at the top at the end of the season. This is likely to be an exciting year for the Belt with a lot of competition in the upper half of the conference. I perceive that some folks in the bottom half are going to see a lot of improvement as well. Should be fun.

When we played Auburn in 91, we had on record the largest visiting crowd in Jordan Hare stadium to date. That was before they started doing home and home with Bama.
