I saw someone who just parked and left their flag visible the other day, so it happens.
That said, it makes sense to take it down while parked. People see it as a sign of hatred and bigotry and thus may seek to vandalize your car while you are away, so it's not exactly cowardice to take it down while parked but actually pretty smart.

This.
Yea I can see him not wanting his car to get vandalized. It only takes one idiot.

Seeing how you weren't " committed" in your own conviction. If so, you'd had the testicular fortitude to say the same words to that guy.
Sounds like someone is all hat and no cattle!

I so wanted to ask him about if he was big enough to ride around with it flying out the bed of his truck then why take it down in a parking lot, are you not committed to flying it?
so you weren't big enough to ask him...... is basically what you are telling us.
To confront someone in a public place when you are on your own mission for being there it would probably not be best stir something up if you weren't able to finish it. At another time and another place who knows... a confrontation could have gone down badly for both parties.

That's my thing, you can be a bad ass rolling down the road with it flying but as soon as you park you are hiding it.
Don't buy the protecting property angle as anyone one wanting to inflict such a act could have seen him driving around and burglarized the truck for wanting to do something with the flag he had. And its not like the roof liner was invisible to they eye if you looked at the truck... windows weren't tinted.
If you are comitted to music you'll leave your stereo on the roof of your car when you go to the mall. Otherwise you are a coward.
Makes sense.
Well, for me to put my cd player, two amps, flush mounted sub box and dash speakers all out for display in a parking lot if I rolled up blasting my tunes would a little much right? Its called rolling up your windows and hitting the lock button. If someone does a B&E on my car for audio gear at least I know they got taste in good equipment.

to me this is akin to riding with windows down blasting in a neighborhood or parking lot.....and neither party (regardless of race) would leave it out or unlocked....and the neighbors fk'n hate that type of blasting....
this would never have happened if it wasn't for the media creating an association to the real tragedy which was......a fk'n idiot killed people.....

Could have put a sticker or a license plate on his truck but bad ass wants to troll with a big ass flag. Same thing goes for the people who fly big college football flags on their trucks, especially for University of Oklahoma. They're just trolling too.

Maybe he was afraid some angry progressive girly man such as yourself...would take it?
Why didn't you ask him about the flag little buddy?
