It is all making sense now
1) Boren made a public statement. LHN has to go, Big 12 expansion has to occur with quality teams, and CCG started.

2) ESPN employee tweeted out UT to Pac 12 and Oklahoma to SEC.

3) Message boards go crazy and people come up with theories on a daily basis.

4) Twitter message board insiders (most fake) come back and start tweeting out all possible situations so they can come back and say they were right.

5) B1G info said back in April that B1G was talking with Kansas and Oklahoma.

6) Big 12 media days occur. Conference isn't sure what direction to go.

7) Nebraska writer writes article about the "2010 situation" and mentions "Oklahoma and Kansas" in the last sentence."

8) Respected, long-time sports writer with connections to FOX says FOX is "mulling" idea of Kansas and Oklahoma to B1G.

9) B1G TV negotiations occurring soon if not already.

10) UT related media starting to admit the conference is doomed and tweet out "new leadership" and "Pac 16."

B1G is after Oklahoma, Kansas, UVA, Georgia Tec/UNC.

UT is heading to the Pac 12 with Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

11) The GOR is not going to be defeated in court. Just ins't.

12) Networks have power to work around the GOR, conferences do not since a conference that dissolves is no longer a conference under NCAA regulations.

13) TV networks making the move to a P4.

This has been in the works a lot longer that any of us have realized.

This is the prime time for a school to make the jump if they can get a part of the B1G money that is coming with the new TV contract. Otherwise they will be locked out most likely.

An individual school couldn't do it on their own move though without all of that other stuff tagging along.

I have no doubt the Big 12 is in a bit of trouble and the future doesn't look good. However, I think some people in the media are just fishing for some twitter hits

You're just now catching on that the P5 is working to consolidate down to a P4? Seriously, the upside of a P4 is tremendous for all parties involved. Once that's done, Phase 2 will be a new Div-4. Phase 3 is leaving the NCAA all together to form their own basketball tournament and keep all of THAT money as well.

Well, let's give him credit where credit is due. It seems like he is finally done telling the entire internet that the big 12 is going to survive.

No, been saying P4 for a long time but not for many years. Just not on this website.

You mind posting my response here that I made to you and Getner there so that I don't have to? That would be great, thank you.

One thing that is making sense to me is that despite all the Big 12 posturing, the conference is still very fragile. They are the least stable p5 conference. Still alot of personality issues between member institutions, much more than other conferences.

If this happens, Houston becomes the next Rutgers.

Would schools like Cincinnati, Memphis, BYU, Boise State and some others get invited into the P4 since they make money in certain sports?

No problem......

If neither side has a problem with it then the contract doesn't matter any more.

That is why you need all ten Universities to be part of the dissolution and approve it and Fox is necessary because they have more to lose from the dissolution of the conference than ESPN does. Sure, ESPN has a say in it too...which is one of the reasons why Texas to the PAC is a no go. For the most part though, the dissolution of the big 12 is a positive for ESPN.

So, if Fox gets enough to counter the loss they incur by no longer having the big 12 supply the majority of their college football coverage then it's no problem. What I surmise is that we will see Fox get half of The Big Ten's Tier 1 rights during this negotiation period. See the connection? Fox being connected with The Big Ten, Oklahoma and Kansas coming together?

This should all pretty much answer nebraskafan's questioning post as well. If it doesn't, let me know.

Well we need to give it up to He1NousOne. He has been predicting something like this was going to happen for quite awhile now.

Then, start the anti-lawsuits. I bet the Networks would have the P4 take a school like Boise State.

I think what these P4 conferences want to do is avoid any issues especially anti-trust. So, they might figure a way to bring some of these schools in somewhere. Boise State is actually keeping up with the P5 conferences with what they are doing. They are attracking very good players to be competitive against P5 schools, and way much better than some P5 schools.
