Kansas
Kentucky
Michigan State
maybe Wisconsin
I don't think we want to play UCLA anymore, but UCLA too.

There are plenty of other schools that we probably should be willing to do a 2 for one on, but we shouldn't because it opens the door to more scheduling like that.

Indiana.

I considered them, but they are not the Indiana of old.

They have fallen off a bit. But way more than this list. Arizona, gonzaga, Louisville, Wichita state, Villanova, Michigan, Ohio state, Syracuse, Georgetown, etc.

If we want to be taken seriously, we need to take what we can to get games against these types of schools. I'm not putting our program down, but if we can't get home and homes and just say screw it, we are left with mediocre games, which get us mediocre results. I don't want to go back to the mike Davis years of being this close, but not really having anything on the resume.

That said I do know KY is about the only team he would do a 2-1 with in the sec.

We should really take a back seat to no one and schedule smart. 3-1 is not smart IMHO.

Certain schools you do that for. UK is one of those schools and the only school in the SEC you would do that with. That is smart scheduling and a no-brainer in my opinion. And if we did do it, it wouldn't mean we're taking a backseat to them. Didn't we do a 3-1 with UNC or was it just a 2-1?

I dont care if we never play UK again,, how many teams in the US can say they have a winning record against the Wildcats like we do,, 3W and 2L according to my recollections.

I wouldn't included Gonzaga or Wichita St. on that list.

Nor would a majority of our fan base. We don't like good opponents to act like they are better than us. 3 good 2 for 1 series gives us 3 shots at good wins a year, including one at home. I get the pride factor, but if it comes down to it, are we really happier with home and homes with Chattanooga and USF?

Nothing to do with pride. Just don't think those two teams are worthy of two for ones. When those two teams win a NC then I'll change my tune about them. Meanwhile, USF has a long storied history with UAB and Chattanooga is a easy drive for a road game.

I think we'd consider a 2-1 with Florida (not that Memphis Blazer would agree). Not a terrible drive either.

Depending on how good Florida is post Billy Donovan. They were pretty crappy (despite beating us) in his last year there.

Might as well be willing to do 2 for 1's with anyone then.

Nope, but honestly I would go 2-1 with any ACC teams. This is the only league though.

I agree with the principle, but the acc is big now. Va tech, bc, Georgia tech, wake, fsu, and Clemson were all over 100 last year in the rpi. I don't think we want to make a habit of giving any of those teams two for 1's.

I still would and maybe even some to teams who's beating us on big time prospects, especially the instate guys.

I wouldn't go 2-for-1, but as much as Mark Gottfried still recuits here, NC St. could be a possibility.

I dunno im all for being cavalier and having UAB pride, but I think we need to take big time games however we can get them, as long as we aren't getting totally hosed in the deal.

We don't need to be whores. Go two for one with the elite only. Play folks home and home or just play them in the tourneys like the ECC this year and Bahamas last year. I think Haase feels that way as well from the looks of things.

Yep, I rather get hosed by the ACC then sec they can shove it. The sweetest thing would be winning 2 or 3 games and actually proving we're the best program. Get Haas and Purdue down here and show him what he's miss out on. Hopefully we can start to have better showings in these tournaments.

If it means the difference between getting a few more quality game on the schedule and some at large worthy wins, then you do what you have to do.. I don't think the fact that we signed a 2-for-1 deal with cincinnati (for example) will really enter into a recruit's mind in terms of an inferiority complex.
