Exclamation TE Position
Good article in CA today about the TE position. This is a key position in CJF's Offense from TCU, where they often deployed 2 TEs to create mismatches in the passing game. This has been a position sorely in need of depth. cJF even sighted this at the PR conference discussing the '15 class.

Anyone know what happened to '14 signee Tyler Kolodny? Though an older player (similar to old FSU QB Chris Winke's situation), all feedback on him, was he was highly athletic.

He apparently had offers from Fresno St and VA-Tech as well. Thought we'd found a diamond in the rough.

RE: TE Position
"When it came to choosing Memphis, Kolodny said he saw the Tigers as a team on the verge."

“After meeting the coaches of Memphis, I was very impressed with them,” Kolodny said. “They’re running things the right way. Just seeing how hungry the community is to get some wins — I felt that, and the commitment from the administration. Money, facilities. I feel the program is about to explode.”

I like this guy! & those were some amazing statements that he made

He is no longer on the roster. We have 6 tight ends and 2 of those are freshman walk ons.

Cross has been a f***ing rock for this team. Dependable, durable, and motivates everyone around him. This is my definition of a football player.

Any insight as to why? I figured he might have been married and decided to get a job, or he felt he was too old to still play college. I thought he was 24. Shame to lose him. Seemed very athletic.

I think we could see WR Greg McKillion line up at TE on occasion as well. He's big enough at 6'5" 230 to move inside.

Tough as a dollar steak. I'll never get the image of his forehead out of my brain.

That would be a creative option and a HUGE mismatch on routes.

TE Position
Robbie Young will play a lot at TE this year.. He was 3rd on depth chart last year as a Frosh.. He played in a few games and had 1 TD pass in limited minutes.. He is big and strong!! After all his Dad and I played for then Memphis State Baseball together so it's only fitting he plays a lot this year.. But seriously the kid is going to be good!!

Montiel played for Arlington High in Texas. That district is one of the toughest in the state. All big schools. He has been getting more playing time and maybe this will be a great year for him.

Even though Magnifico is a walk-on freshman...I think he could be really good

Agreed. He's not your typical walk-on.

He has really good hands. Will be a great "possession" TE.
