IMO BYU to the Big XII is a dead issue. It will never happen.
For one thing, the Big XII will make no concessions to the LDS Church. For another, it would double the length of the longest road trip for WVU in the Big XII. Geography is an important consideration at the current time, and BYU is in the wrong location.
Your local West Virginia press seems to disagree:

"If Big 12 expansion ensues before Obama leaves the White House, we’ll presume BYU is the most obvious addition."
If the Big 12 were to add BYU, there would likely be an East-West division split, and many posters on this board have already laid out likely splits where BYU would be in the west, and WVU on the East. Also, Sunday play doesn't impact college football or Big 12 men's basketball. Not that hard at all to work around.

Wrong. That's what West Virginia Media Holdings and John Raese think. It's not the same.

I could see BYU football only. Paired with Cincinnati & keeping the double round robin in hoops could make sense. Would really impact RPI with a 20 game league schedule for MBB/WBB and takes the best football brand left on the board in a minimum hassle way.

No thank you. WVU has been a part of a hybrid conference before. Never again.
